"lootfest" isn't a word I'd use to describe any version of the Helltides. All I've ever received out of any of the chests, including the mystery chests, was vendor garbage.

FWIW I don't think that's the right mindset. At some point you will find some really good gear and it'll make other gear you collect look like trash in comparison so you will not have much use for it.

In my case, I collected 4 really good crossbows over the past 2 weeks that I really like and have kept- I use them for different purposes. However, I've probably collected close to 100 sacred, ancestral, legendary bows and crossbows in that time frame that was weak by comparison. Even among the 4 I kept there's one I main because the roll and aspect on it just that good.

You can't expect to get upgrades every hour.

So none of the skill points/stat buffs collected from the altars carryover? I assume same for paragon points? I know it's a different realm but that's dumb.

They should carry over at least the first 2 tiers of the region progress. Just claim them again in the menu n the alters should have definitely carried over currently playing n have all of them marked on the map. Not sure if you had to just do it on the 18th or can you after they said you had to log in to a character that had everything n should have carried over

I'm not sure how my comment came off as snarky, all I was trying to convey was that ultimately you will get gear that outclasses a lot of drops and at that point you will see diminishing returns as you keep playing because the pool of items that are better than what you have currently equipped becomes smaller the stronger you get.

Finally got my horse. Going to find all the shrines before I wrap of the main story then I'll probably start a season character.

I'm honestly shocked how they managed to make the endgame this boring.

I don't mind grinding at all, I do it all the time. I have a dozen useless platinum trophies, 100% achievements on games, grinded runecloth in WoW Vanilla for like 2 weeks straight to get a different mount. I'm the dumbest grinder you can imagine.

There is absolutely nothing to motivate me to play this game any further and I'm only level 63...

Not even item sets in a game all about the loot? Come on....

Give hardcore a try! The death by lag spike - while it can happen - is completely over exaggerated, more often characters die because a moment of player error and pushing for content that the character is not ready for. Give it a try - I bet you'll love it (until your first character dies )

Only got to level 58 with druid on WT3 and started getting a bit bored, definitely a game to go back to after 6 months/a year once some changes are made and content added.

Ive not played for a few weeks, but after seeing the patch notes I just uninstalled. Sorcerers are completely gutted and across the board nerfs to damage, xp, survivability and items is a bridge too far.

Slowing the game down doesn't fix the fact there is still nothing to do but spam helltides and nightmare dungeons for 60 levels, and if you couldn't do T60+ content without getting one shotted before you're in an even worse place now.

These guys are really amateur. Next patch they’ll probably try to fix it and accidentally make them gods

That’s actually what I don’t get about the end game. At least in the old games you grinder to beat it on nightmare difficulty, but in this one you don’t even replay the campaign? The grind is literally just for the sake of grinding and that is just weird as hell to me

You'll start finding higher quality ones as you progress. You'll find a bunch as you go so don't sweat about scrapping socketed gear when you find something better.

Finished the main story. My Brother helped me get all the shrines for 3 of the areas and I got a ton of Paragon points. Going to try out my first nightmare dungeon next time I'm on.

Wow does having a horse speed up levelling.

Yea, I have a Rogue (completely different build to my main) at level 37 or so. Agree on the availability of the horse. It's funny, I find myself short on crafting resources and herbs, something I have not had to worry about in a long time.

Anyway the malignant hearts and new aspects are pretty cool. I do think I'll be able to get to WT3 later this week. I remember hearing that Barbarians will be getting buffs in a hotfix.

I started the season and everything is reset, including altars, unless I'm completely mistaken. Regardless, all region reward levels are gone so no skillpoints upon character creation.

I went from doubting Blizzard, to being elated at how this game seemed, to being utterly disappointed with their incompetence. That interview with those three guys looking down at their shoelaces the entire time was hilarious.
"Why did you lengthen casting time for town portal?"
"Yeah well... that is, uh... that is something we can look at. It wasn't a huge change... um... anyway next question."

Although it was infuriating, I would sincerely doubt this was their personal fault. Also they're getting orders from people who are talking to shareholders and investors, who have no idea what makes a game fun. And all the wrath of gamers is pointed at whatever face Blizzard puts up on the screen. Wouldn't surprise me if they're all hanging from crosses on their next roundtable interview or whatever they're called

You aren't supposed to lose your altars and unlocked map regions renown pts. When was the last time you check in with your main toon (non-season)? You were supposed to load up non-seasonal toon game and let it update and synch your progress before you start a new seasonal toon.
