I still feel like the wind has largely been taken out of my sails for Diablo. I actually am looking for ways to play the original (I have the original game, but hilariously enough my current PC has no disc drive)

Exile Con is coming in 3 days. Hopefully you find something exciting there. DIV has a lot of work to do and it depresses me the dev team not only didn't learn from D2 but hasn't Benchmarked the Best in Class POE.

Anyone know how I can get my rapid fire aspect to 50% speed buff, my newb ass imprinted another aspect on a weapon that had that aspect on it. I honestly don't feel like progressing untill I correct my mistake.

Been playing my Necro. The auto corpse ability is just stupid good.

There are a handful of new aspects for each class, a new quest line, and the malignant heart mechanic which works very similar to the legendary gem mechanic from Diablo 3. Essentially the hearts work like a legendary aspect for your jewelry- some of which are very creative and useful.

In the case of the Rogue you can earn an aspect for your codex that adds poison to your puncture basic skill after completing a set of objectives. This aspect is a game changer as you can basically easily poison anything now without having to use traps or any skills that have a cooldown. Other classes have other new aspects as well- and as you keep progressing the quest and completing objectives they keep providing rewards including more brand new aspects and gear. The battle pass is basically all cosmetic stuff.

I am hoping they make the malignant hearts permanent.

And how long does a season last? A month? Two? Just wondering if I want to take advantage of the new season how quickly do I need to beat the main campaign? Do I even need to beat the campaign at all to do a seasonal character? Also, what happens at the end of a season? Does the character just become a “normal” character? Or are they deleted?

Season ends in October
No need to go through the campaign- Altars of lilith and map renown will carry over from your main character
Supposedly the characters will become a normal character but I get the feeling if we cry enough they'll let us keep some of the stuff we earned. Diablo 3's legendary games were added way later and they are completely missing from D4, but the malignant hearts are similar, so I'd imagine there may be plans to make them permanent.

I'm working on tier 3 of season objectives. My Brother rushed me through the capstone so he's going to run me through some nightmare dungeons when we're both on.

Finding rogues not to be that great. They can't inflict enough damage to enough enemies to effectively battle through events or boss hoards. Level 28 now. The regular mobs in dungeons and stuff are cake.

What are you running? I'm rogue, only weakness I have is lack of energy sometimes. But in general I would say rogue is strong.

I played Barb first now I'm running a Rogue at lvl 40 and the Rogue kills the Barb in almost every way. Not only am I moving faster, I'm clearing faster. It's almost a totally different game. I'd rank Rogue as #2 behind the Necro on a tier list. Bone Spear seems to be the top build.

Well I don't min max because it's not fun. I have traps, caltrops, shadow imbue, ultimate arrow, and power arrow or whatever it's called.

The extra perks that you get on the skills are important are you unlocking those?

Yes. But I'd like to be able to use ranged. Switch to melee when they close in for stabby. Have an ultimate and use traps. <shrug>. Why have all these cool abilities and not let me use them? And why is there a skill (caltrops) that does absolutely nothing against bosses. Seem dumb.

I switched to a melee rogue and used a build guide. No ultimate. Powerful, sure. But not as fun as being able to blend different abilities. And using 3 imbues is the opposite of interesting.

I see what people mean by the sorc being under powered. Playing only it I thought other than mana limits it seems pretty good. Now that I see how rogue stuff stacks I can't believe how unfortunate sorc is.

Laughing like a fool at the knockdown effect of traps. So stupid. So awesome.
It’s funny too because Sorc dominated the betas. They just hamfistedly nerfed them

You could probably play that way just fine on the normal difficulty

Hey there

Ravenous legendary aspect negates energy shortages to an extent. Stack that with Ancestral items that grant energy generation and you'll basically never run out of energy...

Unfortunately the game doesn't allow for many hybrid builds. You could possibly get away with a Trap + Arrow build but I'm not sure how feasible it is especially late game. The game somewhat forces you to min / max. The Arrow + Imbuement seems like a fun build. Not sure how well Arrows + Traps works but I would imagine Melee + Traps would work better since you need to be up close anyways to lay the traps. I'm running a simple Twisting Blades + Imbuement build. Might move to traps later.

Do I just suck at this game or something? I can’t even beat the den mother very early on in the game. Dungeon is called Lights Watch. Does Druid were bear just suck? No idea what I’m doing wrong but shouldn’t have trouble this early on

I happen to main a trap + arrow build and i'm at level 85 in the eternal realm and wrecking shit.

I routinely solo tier 40 NM dungeons.. so yes it's possible and yes it's viable.

skills are
puncture
penetrating shot
poison imbuement
poison trap
shadow step
death trap
