PlayStation Official ASTRO BOT Discussion

Man I am loving this game. So much fun. I like it more than Mario Odyssey
are you trying to collect everything on the way through the worlds, i am currently trying to complete world 2 or 3, and one of the levels is tough

Damn i wish Puppeteer did'nt bombed so hard, current Team Asobi could have done something absolutely incredible with a sequel on PS5

Yes, so far got gold flag on all levels we did

First run is done by my woman who would miss good 30% of the hidden stuff
She get mad i don't point at her everything, but reality is i do on purpose just to have excuse to do second run where i explore every corner... want this shit to last as many days as possible, too good to burn it fast lol

It’s crazy how much hidden shit there is in the game. There seems to be hidden mini levels or something that you can come across just by randomly flying around in your ship. Hit an errant asteroid and suddenly it unlocks a level. Just so much TLC went into this level. GOTY for me and I’m only like 1/5 of the way through I think.

I’m on my third world and have found 2-4 per world. Some of the ones similar to the speed runs of the last game are damn hard!!

So far this is a 10/10 game for me. I’m really trying to collect everything so replaying a mission straight away if i see I’ve missed something and I’m not board doing that.

The music is spectacular! Really looking forward to hearing what else is in store.

I fucked up a bit though. I just realised this morning that the special bots have a quirky little line in their description. Hopefully I can view the lines in the home base world.

It’s great you can have multiple saves (love the ps memory card icon for that) as my neice loved the last one so she’s dying to come over and play.

I’m not even halfway through and I’m already praying they release a dlc down the line. I have a smile on my face playing every mission and I don’t ever recall having that while playing a game. Christ I don’t remember the last time I smiled this much in just life!

PS family studios cheer on DualSense delight that is Astro Bot:

They already confirmed they wanted to make a DLC to add contents and that at least that one will be free for all

Tbh wish they will do $$$ DLC too, not only they deserve it but money DLC are much larger/richer

im about 120 bots in, and i dont want this to end EVER

absolutely stunning game that has been universally lauded, its just a masterpiece

talk about catching lightening in a bottle, they seem to have done it here

Awesome news to me

Hermen Hulst, CEO of Studio Business Group just said in an interview thanks to Astro Bot they now see potential on "games for families" *

I kinda hate the definition because kinda confirm the retarded ps360 gamer mindset cinematic shit are the "games for adults" that Sony fully embraced in recent years(decades?), but beside that if mean they will put more $$$$$ to give us Nintedish kind of stuff (but please DON'T try resurrect Knack) who care it's great news

Hope they keep japanese approach and don't just see it as genre where they can shoehorn modern american style to shit

If anything open more japanese small studios pls

* tbh in the interview he say Astro Bot represent their will to invest in that direction, but reality imho is the wave of 10/10 and popularity game got(next to hilarious concord ps5 failure lol) made him be like "see? We ever did trust in that shit!"... if was THAT important to them Asobi would have got greater resources

Let's not forget Japan Studio got the axe from sony in 2021, end up getting reorganized into Asobi
Sony ever hated them for TLG fuck up and not making enough money, but at same time Sony itself was pushing all it's marketing efforts to shape a completely different audience

Astro Bot itself have the value to sell millions and millions, question is if Sony will reshape approach to put it on the center of a new marketing strategy

I hope this comes to PC so I can play it. Mario Odyssey, Bowser's Fury, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Astro's Playroom, and now this. Good times for 3D platformer fans.

Made it about halfway over the weekend and so impressed. This game is absolutely fantastic. I'm not usually a big fan of platformers but this game seems to get everything right. I haven't played much else new this year (unless we're counting Shadow of the Erdtree) so this may be a lock for my GOTY.

ive just finished the "story", im at about 240 bots collected

bought my first PS console since the PS2 a week ago and this is possibly the greatest game i have ever played, easily the best platformer, by a country mile

Rumor is first sales numbers are underwhelming

Seriously i love shit on Sony but problem are people too
Sure part of "people" it's still Sony's fault since they made lot efforts to shape up PS audience in certain direction, but still

Hope they (Sony) do something to promote this game in all possible ways, because if even a Masterpiece like this bomb everybody deserve crap

Sony deserve it, people deserve it too

Seeing mixed takes on this. Hope for the studio it did well for the obvious labor of love it was. Read this today too:

Few days ago Chris Dring tweeted that in the UK Astro Bot sold 70% of what Rift Apart did at launch in physical sales. However, now digital sales are also in it appears #AstroBot sold 21% HIGHER than Rift Apart's debut!

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart sold 1.1m in LESS than a month, 1.6m in a month, 2.7m in a year and 4m in 2 years. According to internal Insomniac documents, it was profitable in its first month!

Astro Bot's development cost is estimated to be SUBSTANTIALLY lower than Rift Apart's, so if sales around the world are anything remotely similar to the UK, Astro Bot is almost certainly already super profitable for #PlayStation. #PS5

Amazon screwed me on the Astro controller but it went live again on Direct so I should have it today.

Game is just getting better and better. The inventiveness and charm is in everything.

Slept on this one. Anyone who played it, can you say if there is difficult platforming in this one? The videos I looked at doesn't really show me one way or another. Looks like it would be up my alley, but want some challenging platforming from it though.
