Nothing moves in welterweight, no fight

Colby still being ranked is ridiculous. He’s avoided most of his division and hasn’t beat someone relevant in years.
Usman is still ranked aswell, and Colby has fought at WW more recently should we remove them too

Shavkat as champ wouldn't be great, sure he gets finishes but he's very inactive. Averaging 1 fight every 242 days since his debut....

Belal since his debut has averaged 1 fight every 159 days to put it into perspective
Can fighters book their own fights? I thought Dana and his boys played a part in it.

I think? They're obligated to offer fighters something like 3 fights a year. Perhaps Shavkat is just a perfectionist.

Shavkat I think deals with injuries, and Garry does fight. He fought MVP not that long ago, he likely is trying to get a fight with another big name now.

I’m fine with that. He at least shouldn’t be ranked at #2 but I can understand some leniency when it comes to former champs with multiple title defences. Something Colby never accomplished.

I can't it just sounds like a way to make exceptions

WW is just a different level of log-jammed from the other divisions. The Usman-Covington-Masvidal trinity froze the division for at least two years, and now we'll have Usman, Edwards, and Covington realistically squatting as long as possible. At LW Poirier, Gaethje, and Charles all eventually gave a shot to young bucks.

Nobody wants to fight him. Hopefully it changes if he gets the belt, but the inactivity is a problem.

This sometimes happens when there's a changing of the guard. A bunch of big stars have aged out, and the UFC just doesn't seem to know what to do with the emerging talent.

As a fan, I want them to book Shavkat vs Belal immediately. But if I were a promoter, I would not want to hold a presser led by Shavkat's translator and Belal. It doesn't make for great soundbytes.

Also JDM was making moves but his injury stalled that.
I believe he was set to fight shavkat too.

Like someone has said, I don't think Shavkat is the problem. Fighters are likely just ducking him. It was like pulling teeth to get Wonderboy to fight him. Shavkat was meant to fight JDM, but injury forced JDM out. I don't think Shavkat has the Khamzat problem.
