Nothing moves in welterweight, no fight

Poatan should cut his right arm and challenge for the WW belt. At his pace of fighting he could move through 4 divisions and still fight more at WW than This guys😂

JDM should be about recovered from his arm (I think) surgery, he vs Shavkat should be a number 1 contender right, both would have a great chance against Muhammad

Shavkat as champ wouldn't be great, sure he gets finishes but he's very inactive. Averaging 1 fight every 242 days since his debut....

Belal since his debut has averaged 1 fight every 159 days to put it into perspective
Khamzat has 1 more fight than Shavkat and they have been in the UFC about the same time.

The division is so slow other than Gilbert burns every top 5 we only wants a title fight while the guys that get streaks Wonderboy and burns end up taking the up and comers and short notice fights..
When those guys deserved title fights.

And end up falling short or losing.

While the other guys are holding out for title fights like Colby and belal did Leon needed a year long camp before every fight didn't help..

I don’t know but it’s frustrating. Colby needs to get off the sidelines and sign a contract against literally anyone and Belal needs to sign a Shavkat contract.
Colby is basically retired at this point. He should be removed from the rankings.

Belal is up to fight Shavkat.. for some reason UFC has not booked that yet.

Marty keeps on ducking everybody. Edwards is nowhere to be seen since losing the belt.

The only guy in the division who is active is Burns. Otherwise filled with a bunch is rank squatters.

This is how incredibly sad the activity of the WW divsion has been for the last 7+ years.

- The next challenger is Shavkat, who last beat Wonderboy. There's very little chance Wonderboy would have gotten the shot if he won.

- Before fighting for the title, Belal beat Burns. I do not believe that Burns would have got a shot if he won.

- Before challenging Edwards, Colby beat Masvidal over a year before when Usman was still champ, so Masvidal would not have gotten the shot if he won.

- Usman was coming off his loss to Leon when he challenged for the title.

- Edwards last beat Nate before fighting for the title. Considering Nate was coming off the loss to Masvidal, it's only by means of the furthest stretches of promotional bullshittery that Nate would have gotten a shot if he won.

- Colby beat Woodley before getting his second shot at Usman. Woodley was coming off utter dominations by Usman and Burns, so he most probably would not have gotten the shot if he won.

- Masvidal did fuck all before getting his second shot at Usman

- Burns beat Woodley fresh off his Usman loss to earn a shot. Maybe Woodley would have gotten a rematch for beating Burns, but only if he did well enough in that fight to get Dana over hating him as a champion, so probably not.

- Masvidal beat Nate before his first shot. Considering it was the "BMF title," and Nate was still popular off the Conor rubber match, he might have gotten a shot, but considering his win streak would have just been Pettis then Masvidal, it'd be pretty obvious he didn't deserve it. The best challenger probably would have been Leon, who was still fresh off his RDA win. Alternatively, Maia had turned around with wins over Good, Rocco Martin, and Ben Askren, and Usman was a new champ.

- Before Colby's first title shot, he beat Lawler, who was on a two fight losing streak to RDA and Askren, so he wasn't getting a title shot off of a win.

*** Colby fought RDA for the interim title back in June 9th, 2018. This was, functionally, the last time this division had a legitimate title eliminator, where either guy could then fight the undisputed champ with a win. And guess what happened? NOT that, cuz Colby got stripped for BS reasons.

- Till beat Wonderboy to get his shot at Woodley, and considering what a bad place Wonderboy was in after the back to back fights against Woodley (even if the last one was a robbery, even according to the athletic commission director) Wonderboy was not getting a shot with a win.

- May 13th, 2017: Maia, on a 6 fight win streak (including Magny, Nelson, Brown, and Condit) fought Masvidal on a 3 fight win streak (including Ellenberger and Cowboy). This is the most recent time that the welterweight division had a title eliminator result in a challenger fighting for the title.

Glad to see Shavkat / Belal finally announced. I was getting worried. WW is the worst division in the UFC full of part time fighters who obviously hate their jobs. Glad to see Belal take a fight for a quick turnaround but also the most dangerous fight that nobody else wants.

Yeah.. Belal gets hate but the guy was the underdog a gazillion times before getting the shot and now is fighting the boogeyman of the division.

I used to think Shavkat would to run through Belal but I'm not sure now.

Hopefully they start feeding the shopworn guys left like Usman and Colby to the newcomers so WW gets 100% refreshed. Burns and Wonderboy already took the fall for the new generation to rise.

They have shavkat/belal and supposed to be Colby/Garry in Tampa. Usman and Leon are sitting around though, JDM should fight one of them. Probably Buckley fight the other

WW used to stand for wrestle weight today it stands for waiting weight.

If the UFC fighters ever got a union it should be led by WWs.
