yeah well “Federer” just even it up with “Tiger Woods” after 5-6 golf sessions...

You edited it and still fucked his name up. Stay in your lane, mong.

Too stupid to grasp a basic analogy (hint: it's not literal).

I typed that on my phone half drunk and the auto-correct fixed it.

At least my mistake wasn’t full retard like thinking Negreanu had no chance In this challenge? You need to learn more poker. I suggest subscribing to Upswing Poker. You might learn a thing or two...

I haven't really followed much poker in the last 5 odd years or so. I've heard of Doug and know of him as a online NLHU player (obviously with 3 bracelets as well lol).

I'm still in the time warp of Ivey, Dwan, Negreanu et al. Heck anyone Full Tilt could try to shove down our throats

Phil Ivey is a really interesting dude though. I didn’t know that he was like 6’2” until a little while ago, always thought he was a Manlet lol

I'd seen him before in other vids before (like playing golf I think)

Speaking of Phil Ivey my youtube feed just popped up with a video "Phil Ivey is back". I thought he had been super quiet in the poker scene. Didn't know where he went but apparently he had been using his money on different business ventures. But he's trying to come back now?

Man I hope so. The rumors are everywhere. He may or may not be verging on being broke, either way he owes quite a few people a lot of money. He’s gonna have to earn and I’ve heard he has backers already.

I hope he’s still got it if he is coming back. I’m going to be looking into this when I can.

He lost a massive court case after been caught "cheating" at baccarat, and owed a couple of casinos some serious money......meant it was almost impossible for him to play. Was only recently he agreed a settlement, thus his return.

Ah I see. I knew about the Baccarat incident. I didn't realize he was blackballed. Figured he could run off to Macau and play there for a while but I guess not.

FWIW I think those cases were bullshit.

Seemed like he caught them slipping and they took exception to his ability to exploit the casino.

I know he did/is doing a series of interviews with Barry Greenstein. I think they're also pushing new High Stakes Poker series. Tom Dwan has come out of Macau ;-)

I think poker in general for the guys that were big when we started to watching and follow died off. Especially since they were around for Black Friday. A lot seemed to branch off to do different things. I think Phil still played in a few WSOPs. Possibly sat out the last 2/3 years. TBH, the biggest thing he's been known for the last few years was the baccarat thing.

I don't think he owed the casinos serious money. Maybe costs (though in total that probably wasn't chump change either). He just didn't get the winnings.

Agreed @Fugazy. They did everything he asked. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'm sure they'd gladly keep his money. They could've said no at any time but wanted the action.

Not true. He was ordered to pay / pay back the Borgata $10 million +.......something he avoided for several years. When he won some cash in the WSOP 2019, he had to give it up.

Casinos are shady, so they were technically in the right I believe. They can legally fuck you, but you have to be Snow White to them. At the same time Ivey knew what he was doing.

Let's be honest, 50%+ of people who play poker regularly are scum bags, or are at least capable of scummy behaviour.

I know. What I mean is that it wasn't money like he had to give up more.

Concur. Again, if the casino had won, this wouldn't be a thing. He knew what he was doing, and they gave him what he wanted, chasing the action and well, they didn't pick out his edge. If he had lost, the casino would be very much "whelp, better luck next time"

Doug Polk stormed back in the last session and they're now even.

I like 'em both but I am a bigger fan of Doug Polk.

Go Dougie!
