NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

Switch is a complete joke and a waste of money right now. Until it actually has a reasonable library of games, there's literally NO reason to buy one. Looking forward to grabbing Zelda on Wii U as soon as I finally finish Wasteland 2 (damn you, backlog!).

Yeah, if Zelda is the only game you want, and you have a Wii U, then play it on the Wii U. I think it's a good thing that you can play the same game without having to buy a Switch, but apparently I am a fanboy and wrong about that.

It is for me lol. I have no interest in getting a switch at all but am enjoying BotW on Wii U. Honestly those bastards at Nintendo owed me his much!

the WiiU had 3rd party support at the beginning of its life cycle, so I bought it. I enjoyed the games and bought some. Then the 3rd party support stopped coming and games just took forever to come out. I'm going to get BotW on my WiiU. I'm going to wait to buy the Switch to see if the 3rd party support stays around.

sigh....

why not just fucking enjoy games instead of trying to say one platform is better than the other?

if i had bought a Wii U, i would have purchased the Zelda game on that instead, but im pretty sure that is the last ever game that is going to be released for that console, so if you want any games that Nintendo deem an upgrade, buy the new console or just STFU

people complaining just sound like poor people who cant afford multiple systems

Picking my wife up at the airport today, so I will definitely be Switching it up while I wait :D

So if you go out and buy a Switch game, bring it home, and open it. What's in the box?
@HairdewX
Is there a just a code in there, is the game on a sd card, etc?

How did it not release with any new 3rd party games?

I thought it wasn't going to be like the Wiiu?

Is it getting For Honor, Sniper Elite 4, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Mass Effect

Like why didn't it even have the newest Madden?

Literally Zelda and that's it, which looks just fine on Wiiu

I have slim versions of both X1 and PS4, but what incentive is there to drop $400 on the Switch when it literally only has one game right now?

Depends on the POV. As the regrettable owner of a Wii-U, I'm indifferent about the Switch version. And I'm glad I get the full game experience without having to buy a new piece of hardware. So I'm not scoffing at Nintendo on this one.

The game looks gorgeous. Not sure what it's missing on the Switch that people are looking for. Edit: I've read about fps hiccups in some big fights - I'd expect there to be less on the Switch.
That's known as a disincentive. You literally just presented an argument devaluing the Switch.

Great argument for the Wii U.

I love these kinds of posts in threads where people are pointing out things in a topic specifically created to talk about issues they have with it.

I'm kidding, I actually hate these posts. They're completely immature and more whiney than most of the posts where people are complaining about something specific. Yep shut down dialogue and hurl and insult on the way out, you definitely sound better then the people you're bitching about.

I wonder how rampant these issues are. That video makes it look pretty freaking bad, but I would like to see how many systems are really malfunctioning like that

Lack of compelling games is my biggest issue, and lack of availability which was to be expected i guess.

The actual price of the console isn't bad, and i like the design of it. The one other thing that worries me is Digital Foundry confirmed the input delay of the Joycons and says its actually a pretty big issue at times.

Do I really have to explain this? Really?

BotW was originally planned only for the Wii U. Nintendo themselves said they wanted to make sure that people that bought the Wii U with the knowledge that BotW would come out on it would not be screwed out of the full experience. That's a good thing, that no matter what hardware it is played on, the player will get the full game experience.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Let me put it in terms you might understand:

Guerrilla Games could have easily made Horizon: LD have significantly better graphics on the PS4 Pro vs the regular PS4. However, they made the game look virtually identical no matter which machine it is played on. The only difference is resolution and frame rate ability. That's a good thing.

PSVR games are virtually identical between the old PS4 and PS4 Pro, even if the PS4 pro is twice as powerful. That's a good thing.

The Switch is a new system. The ps4 pro is just that - providing a better 4k option at times. (Which I might add the Switch can't even do).

Please don't confuse the 2.

Snipperclips is fun as hell - just finished the first ten levels with a friend. Perfect price point too. If Nintendo can keep these kinds of games flowing it'll do the Switch the justice it deserves.

Pretty happy with it. Hardware feels really nice. I didn't think I'd like the Joy con holder controller but it's just fine and I played for about 10 hours today with no battery issues. Ive never been a handheld fan but I love the functionality of being able to pick up right where I left off and go into another room. I bought it only for Zelda but I know in a few months time when Mario Kart comes out my kids are going to have a blast playing multi-player with their cousins. We know a legit Mario game is on the way. I trust from Zelda and the hardware that Nintendo is not fucking around with the Switch.

Is it just me, or has the hype for this thing come and gone?

Not slamming the system or anything, it just seems like a forgettable launch. I remember a lot more hype for the reveal, than the actual launch. This thing is on shelves right now, and it seems like there is hardly a peep about it. The Zelda game is getting some play, but the launch itself feels like it's come and gone.

Maybe it's just me.
