Literally no difference, but it's really not that telling of the power of the system. The game has been in development for quite some time, and porting it to the Switch for launch, is more business than anything.

i have so many consoles and gaming systems its a bit silly, but i just enjoy games
the only two i have never owned are the Wii U and the Dreamcast

Had to go home to the parents and it took me 3 mins to undock and pack up my Switch. Woulda been less if i didn't have to unplug my AC adapter.
Do u know how awesome it is to be able to continue playing Zelda at any moment? This is a top tier console game on the go.
Yeah the graphics aren't waaaay better than Wii U. It looks great on my HD tv so who gives a fuck. If all I cared about was the best graphics I'd play a PC game.
If u have a Wii U buy the Wii U version. If u want the Switch then u probably have Zelda too then.. everyone else is missing out on a great game. Oh well.

BotW was originally planned only for the Wii U. Nintendo themselves said they wanted to make sure that people that bought the Wii U with the knowledge that BotW would come out on it would not be screwed out of the full experience. That's a good thing, that no matter what hardware it is played on, the player will get the full game experience.

Let me put it in terms you might understand:
Guerrilla Games could have easily made Horizon: LD have significantly better graphics on the PS4 Pro vs the regular PS4. However, they made the game look virtually identical no matter which machine it is played on. The only difference is resolution and frame rate ability. That's a good thing.
PSVR games are virtually identical between the old PS4 and PS4 Pro, even if the PS4 pro is twice as powerful. That's a good thing.

I was up until 4am last night playing BotW, because it really is fun.
Lol at trying to compare two different generations of consoles to a console that's just a beefed up version of its earlier version. How does that at all refute your point that Zelda looking the exact same is "a good thing?"

Die hard fan? I am a huge fan of Zelda yes but die hard? Hardly. Didn't even buy the Wii U, don't play Nintendo DS, hardly played the Wii. Own every playstations ever released (all bought on launch day besides PS4), built a powerful PC. Didn't like windwaker, didn't even play skyward sword (but did buy it).
What is so important about the Switch game being so much better than the Wii U version? I don't get it. The game is gorgeous already in both format..

This answer makes the most sense to me. When I asked HairdewX if this was supposed to be a good thing, I wasn't trying to stir shit up or be a smart ass. I was literally confused as to why it was done that way. @HairdewX , dude give me a break if you are really buying that story. I don't honestly believe you are, I think you are just on here defending it because you don't like to see people bashing on Nintendo. You can still be a fan of the Wii U, Switch, Nintendo and Zelda without defending every dumb statement they try and sell you. And this one is pretty silly. They made a great game, no one is denying that. They did not purposefully gimp their own game as some kind of misguided act of benevolence towards Wii U owners

I think people just want to feel validated with their new purchase. In time the switch will separate itself from the Wii U, but for right now I see no reason to own it unless you want to play Zelda on the road.
They didn't gimp anything on purpose, I am not trying to imply that. The game was made for the Wii U, so there was really nothing to gimp.
I am a fan of video games, not just a single company. In fact, I hated the Wii and was only OK with the N64, they are the only consoles I do not own atm.
I have just been talking about the Switch the most lately because it gets me really excited and it's the latest thing. I am not "defending" anything like a fanboy, as if it really matters, as I get everything anyways.
