NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

Chances are high that most people here don't own a Wii U.

looks basically the same to me. The switch has some brighter colors but that may just be the capture

Nintendo themselves said they would do their best to make sure there would be no differences between the two.

"Virtually Identical."

The Switch has been out here for a day and a half, plenty of them on the shelves still.

Bro, this is like when Bud Light was selling you on its "drinkability". Just because they tell you something about their product is a win...doesn't mean it is.

Is that supposed to be a good thing?
Exactly. It's a very poor showing, quite revealing actually.

Next they'll be telling you they made Mario kart 8 look just like the WiiU version on purpose!

But the Switch version has to double as a handheld game, so it kind of makes sense there is parity on the console versions.

I don't have a Switch but do have a Wii U, and my copy shipped yesterday.

i have a switch, havent played it yet

but i really couldnt care about the graphics in the slightest, the reason i didnt buy a Wii U was the god awful controller

i hope they release the games that came out with the Wii U for the switch, and will buy them

It really does not expose anything that just more likely laziness porting most of the Wii U code over to Switch. I have seen the specs on Switch it is considerably more powerful then the Wii U. It's kinda like using Unity to port my game over to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and i7 Nvidia 1060 or better PC ends up looking all alike does that mean that all have the same level of computing power. Switch based on its graphics and compute hardware it has a GPU that is comparable to the 1060 and a decent ARM CPU. This thing runs rings around the Wii U in the real world.

Depends on the POV. As the regrettable owner of a Wii-U, I'm indifferent about the Switch version. And I'm glad I get the full game experience without having to buy a new piece of hardware. So I'm not scoffing at Nintendo on this one.

The game looks gorgeous. Not sure what it's missing on the Switch that people are looking for. Edit: I've read about fps hiccups in some big fights - I'd expect there to be less on the Switch.

i've read there are less when it is undocked.....

the odd framerate isnt going to influence the type of gamer who are buying this console though, if i want great graphics, i get it for my PC

if i want easy access...xbox one

now i have switch...and im not quite sure why just yet...lol
