Nintendo Nintendo Megathread, v.6: Switch 2 Edition

Welp, I preordered. Call me a fanboy. But playing Prime 4 at 60FPS/4k is too good for me to pass up. I suck at emulation setup so ToTK running at 60/1440p is a big deal too.

Honestly the Donkey Kong game is the thing that has me most excited. Hard to get used to anything but the old Rare design but the gameplay looks amazing, like Banjo-Kazooie on crack

Did you get the Mario Kart bundle? I also signed up to get a preorder invite from Nintendo's store a while back, so maybe that will come through.
Yeah it made the most sense. I’m going to want to play Mario Kart but I’m not going to spend $90 for it lol.

I still can’t get myself to buy it. With the absurd amount of games I’m interested in this year I don’t even know how I’d make time for it. I just finished Khazan and now I am starting Expedition 33. After that it’s Doom and Lost Soul Aside. Probably play Oblivion Remastered and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound over the summer. In fall there’s Ninja Gaiden 4, Hell is Us, that 2D Terminator game and Ghost of Yotei. Anyone else in the same boat?

I always have too much to play and end up getting everything anyway lol.

- THey gonna re-launch Banjo-Kazooie?

The only thing wrong is not liking Nintendo.

I guess they just opened a new Nintendo store in San Francisco, and I was able to secure a Switch 2 pre-order spot there. So, that'll be a fun little roadtrip. I still feel like the only person on the planet who is actually excited about the system.

My nieces and nephews are all about Mario Kart 8. When I told them about Mario Kart World, and how you actually drive to the next track they lost their minds. I guess I have to pick this up now

I totally forgot this was launching next week until I got my Best Buy preorder reminder lol.

Maybe its just my area but all the big chain stores have stock, lowest I saw was 4 of the mario kart bundles at Walmart, target had 5 last I saw.

There seems to be no hype for this thing. Doesn’t help that it is sandwiched between a bunch of game announcements. I’m sure it will still sell like crazy though being the family friendly console. Donkey Kong is the one game I’m kind of sad to miss out on but thankfully there’s so much to keep me busy on the PS5 Pro. If I get one I’ll probably just ending putting it in my cart when Costco has a decent deal

Saw stock at Costco and Best Buy while I was picking up my order. Both had been open a couple of hours and anticipated they’d be sold out by the end of the day.

Not a gamer but was driving home late last night and saw a ton of idiots lined up at a game stop at 11pm for the midnight release (pouring rain too)

Costco at noon today -- 100+ units available.

Guess dorks just like anticipation

my son wants one but we will see maybe for xmas. He is getting a new video card for his birthday and that was already $400

This felt like an old school launch.

Even with one new launch title there’s a still a lot to do on it. It’s enhancing tons of Switch titles which I have a huge backlog of due to not wanting to play something with horrible frame rates, (some aren’t even requiring updates, it’s just brute forcing them to 60 fps) Mario Kart is incredibly fun, and I’m definitely going to be playing Wind Waker and some Soul Caliber 2.

Not for everyone and I don’t blame people for waiting but I’m pretty damn happy with it.

Using the Joycon as a mouse is badass. I expected it to be jittery, but just using it on my couch cushion next to me functioned perfectly. I feel like this should be a game changer, but is going to be a totally neglected feature, like the IR pointer on Wii. When I am done with homework, I will actually play a game, lol.

I saw an article that said a bunch of brand new Switch 2's from Gamestop had puncture holes in the screens because dumbshits there stapled the paperwork to the box.

i'll get it when a good game comes out

new mario
new zelda
new metroid
new donkey

which ever comes 1st
