Crime New Migrant Detention Facility "Alligator Alcatraz" opening next month in Florida Everglades

Incorrect. All individuals are granted a 30 day window to file a challenge to the decision to grant an expedited removal order. No stipulations.

You're confusing challenges with formal appeals.

Uhmm yea. That's part of the reason there are detention centers. They stay there for 30 days at least.

You're confusing yourself terribly.

1) At no point was a claim made against having detention centers. You seem to have convinced yourself to argue a poi t that was never made

2) you're being inaccurate or inconsistent your both your stance abd claims you are making

3) the minimum amount of time for your stay in detention os entirely determined by the speed at which these trials, interviews, and paperwork can be done which on average is closer to 2 years. Futher proving that the system as a whole needs to be fixed to avoid such ridiculously long time frames.

There's constantly pushback when a new detention center opens. What are you talking about.

Expedited removals are much faster than 2 years. All those people being removed quickly are being detained beforehand.

Then quote one of the people saying that instead. It makes nonsense to make that argument against me when im saying you need detention centers.

Average is just under 2 years. It can be faster of slower.

You're clearly implying we don't need new facilities here. Just that we need to speed up processing.

Yes, and? You will always need facilities. We have facilities. If less bodies are just taking up space for large periods of time then there will be more frequently available space in the facilities we have.

Additionally, speeding up immigration court proceedings will inherently help reduce visa over stays (far too many let their shit expire while waiting for court dates) and mean less need to detention.

You're never gonna remove the need for detention centers but just building more doesn't fix the immigration issue at it's core.

The average time in DHS custody for individuals placed in expedited removal was 11.4 days.

Im stating the the necessity for more facilities is tied to the dragged out process. You're inferring what you want to believe.

  • Expedited Removal: IThe average time in DHS custody for individuals placed in expedited removal was 11.4 days. In some cases, deportation can occur within hours or days.
  • Standard Removal: In contrast, for individuals in regular removal proceedings, the average time in DHS custody was 51.5 days.

Ok. Ill read over it. If im wrong, I'm wrong. I do some additional research.

My point was more so focused on making the immigration system as a whole much faster. Not just removals.

I mean I completely agree they should make the immigration process faster. That includes all aspects of it - deciding asylum claims (literally takes years right now) deportations, actually getting citizenship, etc.

Only way to do that is to hire more judges, more infrastructure, more ICE agents, etc.

For sure. I think people focus too much on the detention part or the removal part and not the flip side

- WWE studios should do a movie about this place. Back in the superior decade, PM Media would have made one with Gary Daniels

John Cena is the lead. He sees three masked men dragging a screaming woman into a van, and knocks out all three. He's then arrested because the men were ICE agents and the woman was a(legal)immigrant.

Cena is sent to Alligator Alcatraz, and has to survive the brutality of the Warden, played by the Undertaker. Eventually, Cena and a small group of other prisoners escape and are hunted through the swamp by the Warden, his sadistic guards and their trained 'Gators. It turns out that the Gators are fitted with Go-Pros and the Warden sells the footage to a select group of very wealthy racists who enjoy watching minorities being eaten alive.

One by one, the escapees are killed by the Gators. Cena is badly wounded but finds shelter in a remote home deep in the swamps where a powerful Voodoo priestess - played by Halle Berry - lives. She heals his wounds, and uses her magic to help him fight back. Cena kills the guards one by one until only he and the Undertaker are left alive. Undertaker eventually gets the upper hand, but Halle Berry's Voodoo causes the Gators to turn on Undertaker and kill him.

Just give me my Oscar for Best Original Screenplay now. ;)

You know what’s funny is I used to joke about stuff like this.
I used to joke about having a reality show called “who wants to be an American” and one of the events would be a swimming competition and the contestants would have to swim through either alligator infested or shark infested waters. Another challenge would be to climb a wall and then dig under one. I think this was back in 2016 we were talking about this and here it is for real. It’s fucking insane.

Brown people are the problem!
