Dredd, Strontium Dog, Armitage, Anderson, the Dark Judges...you could build a whole cinematic universe out of them without even touching on other 2000AD characters like Rogue Trooper.
I'm a big fan of Dredd and have read most of it. But I also have to admit that there have been many highs and lows over the years. I personally started to really love Dredd when the color versions debuted, although every other page was still black and white. And the drawing itself sometimes looked like it was half-done and I didn't like that style at all. But otherwise I have nothing to complain about as there has been so much candy over the years with good stories.

He’s not right for this at all imo. I don’t hate all his stuff as I loved jojo rabbit. But he’s not right for Dredd at all. I just want a sequel to the Karl Urban film, but unfortunately that movie tanked so that ain’t gonna happen…

I started with Dredd in the oversized b&w 2000ad comics in the late 80's while on a trip to Ireland. But definitely preferred the dedicated stories in the stand alone comics.

Will reserve judgment until we actually have something tangible to rip to shreds. For now, glad they're doing anything with the character at all

Apocalypse War is probably my favourite, although Cursed Earth and Judgement Day were awesome as well.

Origins is very interesting since it goes into depth about how Fargo created the Judge System.

And any story the Dark Judges appear in is worth a read.

I’m still boycotting all judge dred products until these 3 seashells get explained

Excited for more Dredd even if its a different take. I'll wait to be butthurt until I see some solid casting news/trailer, TW got shredded for Thor LaT to where he got dropped so im going to hope he learned his lesson and reels it in with this project.

One is a manipulative, arrogant, entitled, narcissistic sociopath who has a massively inflated regard for his own talent in spite of being hated and reviled by millions of people.

The other is Adolf Hitler.

Sadly, it didn't do well. Which is a damn shame, since it's one of the best comic book adaptions ever made. Urban is absolutely perfect in the role.
- Looked more like a tv series episode than a movie.

I like Waititi but he has no business doing a Dredd movie

Ragnarok is actually one of my favourite MCU movies, I think he got the blend of action, serious drama and comedy about right but as pretty much everyone agrees he's a terrible choice for a Dredd movie. There was a lot of whacky shit in the comics like the fatties and Walter the robot etc and you just know that this kinda dumb stuff will be irresistible to a fucking manchild like TW.

Thought he was still tied to the live action Akira adaptation, but apparently rights have already lapsed and that's old news.

Dredd is an odd fit, but I was just thinking about it... the Dark Judges would make for absolutely brilliant cinematic baddies. Those Brian Bolland pages will forever be a deeply cherished (and scary) part of my childhood.

This could be really great or really bad.
Taika Waititi is one of those gius where I just never know if I’m going to like his movies.

I loved Thor: Ragnarok, and I’m not even really into all the Marvel stuff that much.

But I thought Jojo Rabbit was just kind of meh.
