New California law

Mixed bag of stuff I'm fine with and stuff I think is fucked up.

Sanctuary state and gun stuff on the top of the fucked up list.

And the school isn't free, someone has to pay for it.

I welcome most of the new laws, minus the huge bump in car registration and the two obligatory moonbat craps reeking of San Francisco Values.

By the way, if your car's value is between $5,000 and $24,999, your next registration fee will be increased by $50.

Ouch that is half my current registration cost. So now gas tax nonsense and my registration for my old ass car going up from 100 to $150. And I still get to drive on shit roads.

So California is believing less and less in science what a surprise

even higher car registration?

along w/ the recent gas and $2 tobacco tax?

phenomenal

guess what benefit we'll receive from those increased revenues.....just guess

lol, looks like California wants to go even deeper in to shit.

Free college? When will libs learn that nothing is free. And minimum wage raises don’t really work. Look up inflation. Also, it will kill small businesses. Making schools fun free zones won’t stop mass shootings. You’re just hurting the responsible gun owners by barring cc. And the sanctuary state fighting the federal government? This is a slap in the face to the whole country. We have immigration laws for a reason. Fuck California. I hope the whole state burns and sinks into the ocean. What an embarrassment to this nation

man you got a hard-on against liberal arts students.

is your daughter boning a broke ass comic book artist and that's why you so angry?.. lol

A comic book artist would be a man with an actual skill and a trade. I know many artist that work for the major gaming firms/graphic designers, they do very well. Btw they went to a trade school.. an art school that taught them a trade and a skill.

baby changing tables will be required in all restrooms, including men's

I actually really like this one
Same. Had to change my kids on the floors a few times. I always had a change mat though.

is the minimum wage state wide, or just for the metro/city areas?

cuz literally every small business will fold in my area if they have to pay these cans 11/hr to do nothing
That or the workforce is drastically reduced, and one person does two to three people's jobs prior

I actually like all of those accept for the cooperation with ICE one.

But I don't live there so I'm not privy to the naunces of how things work in that state.

we constantly get taxed for things, and none of those revenues go to help anybody that isn't completely worthless

For example, the $2 tobacco tax (per pack/dip can) is ostensibly to pay for the MediCal costs added by smokers.....which is fine as generally the poor and lower middle class smoke and those are who's on MediCal.

But if what if you're not worthless, pay for your own HC, and smoke? you just eat the $2 just b/c?

same w/ the recent gas tax, these roads and Caltrans in general are completely worthless

This is all on top of having the highest State Income tax rate also

- first year of community college will be free for all new students (must be full time)
Nothing is free, someone has to pay for it. Who is it this time? Also, I doubt that there is a problem with motivated people going to university because they can't afford it. I'd rather year 3-4 be free, since those are the years where people prove that they have what it takes to stick around. All I see this doing is wasting more people's time who shouldn't be in college in the first place. IMO every college's first year is oversaturated as is, at least 50% of the people would be better off somewhere else.

- recreational marijuana legal to purchase
Not a really big deal, I doubt people who wanted marijuana couldn't get it before

- vehicle registration will cost $25 to $175 more based on the value of your car
A tax for liking nice cars? I mean it isn't much but it sets a really bad precedent.

- minimum wage up to $11 per hour
More unemployment incoming!

- Sanctuary State law will limit local cooperation/resources with ICE
So ridiculously dumb. How is California going to sustain itself? How is it going to prevent illegal immigration of criminals from South America (the most violent places on Earth with an ever growing amount of gang related violence coming to America). Just completely dumb and suicidal.

- guns banned at all public schools even for those with concealed carry permits
That'll stop a school shooter. He'll think: what I'm about to do before shooting up a school is illegal, therefore I shouldn't do it.

- all ammunition purchases (or pickups) must be made in person
Not sure what this is trying to accomplish

- gender identity no longer a requirement on IDs
Is sex still required? Does a person know what biological sex you were born as by looking at your ID?

Rest seem alright to me.

It always bothers me when I hear of people paying more taxes for health costs related to smoking. For one thing, if you smoke it doesn't mean you will be a burden on the health care system. It's really only heavy smokers who end up with issues usually.

Also, what about obese people? Fuuuuuck I'd bet the bank they incur more health costs on the system then smokers, but it's not politically correct to shun fat people anymore.

take a guess which class of people fat people tend to come from, as well......

and then it becomes clear why many in this country ARE NOT for UHC or single payer, if anything just to not pay for the healthcosts bore from personal choices and lack of discipline

If the people in California didn't want these things they wouldn't keep voting the politicians in. Don't force your views on other states. If they pass a law that is unconstitutional then it will be challenged. Anyone in another state bitching about a state excuting their rights to govern themselves, needs to think long and hard about what they believe.

It's not as simple as 'just don't vote for them'

if you live in Cali, and NOT in a city (so a more rural area), you're screwed. Nothing will be voted in for you, nobody cares about you, and yet everyone still lumps you in w/ the psycho leftists in the Bay Area. That's the vast majority of the state, but the majority of the population is on the coast in the Liberal part of the state

It's why mad conservatives here don't even vote for President... I mean why?

marijuana being legal doesn't really change too many things.

it isn't legal like it is in colorado.

you still need a doctors recommendation and medical marijuana card or else no one will sell it to you.

the only difference is you will avoid some tickets for having marijuana or wasting time in court.
<YeahOKJen>

You are free to move to a state that has political views more in line with your own.

and no, you don't need a doctors RX nor a medical card to buy trees now

It's recreationally legal

And you only needed the Doctors RX anyway, not the actual photo ID card. If you still maintain the recommendation, you don't have to pay the State/County/City taxes levied on top (at least 15% for state)....

uh don't ask me how I know this

lol no doubt. Lower class people tend to be less educated about diet. Plus, it's actually kind of expensive to eat really healthy but I'm not too sold on that excuse anymore. The hardest part is being motivated enough to prepare and cook your own meals instead of buying microwaved shit and fast food.
