Law New California Law Imposes Massive Fines on Employers Who Refuse to Pay Stolen Wages

Back in 2007 I worked at Circuit City, and at one point a bunch of us employees just stopped getting paychecks. We were supposed to be paid every two weeks, but management kept stalling. This went on for about two months before most of us were eventually let go. After enough of us started threatening action, we finally got paid what we were owed but it shouldn’t have taken that. The store I worked at ended up closing down later that same year, and not long after that, Circuit City as a whole went under.
Once the paychecks stop coming in on time, that’s a sign they’re going bankrupt. Saw it happen when I worked at a franchised pizza shop while I was college. It started that paychecks would occasionally be a day late, then consistently, then a few days late, then out of business.

I do. Look at the current administration. These people have convinced their base that any attempt to make companies behave is socialism and will ruin the economy.

When people are supporting a president that is now just openly grifting them and stealing money from the country, is this a real surprise that they also let this happen?
Up until recently, there was four years of Biden, before Trump 1, there was 8 years of Obama... When three of the last four full administrations have been Democrat, not everything can be blamed on the orange man

God you people are fucking clueless.

Yup. That’s what happens when people isolate themselves into bubbles and only consider sources from their favorite biased networks.

No, just to call you an idiot for trying to blame this on the current administration when the Democrats have been in power for three of the last four full administrations

There is apparently nothing you TDS fuckers will try and blame on him, reality be damned <lol>

I've worked for a couple of companies that were shaving an hour here and there off of OT... seeing if you didn't notice. Seems like the norm in Texas.

Trying and failing. Democrats aren’t great but they do put forth much better policies than the right that try to help people instead of rip them off. Of course the president historically speaking doesn’t have universal power and if you paid attention in those past administration it was usually the Republicans doing stuff like scuttling Obamacare and infrastructure bills. But I know, we have veered into territory way out of your understanding and this is the point where I pat you on your dumb little head and say running along now.

Better luck next time chump.

Gavin's on a roll, lately.
I still don't fully trust him. I think he will run for president in 2028 so this could be resume building for him. I guess either way it's helping people so in the end it's still good. That podcast stuff he did earlier this year was cringe though. I get wanting to have conversations with everyone but he had Kirk and Bannon on there and didn't press them at all. Maybe he read the room after that and evolved but we'll see.

I’m no expert, I don’t live in Cali, but he comes across like a politician through and through. Reminds me of slick Willy Clinton, and I have no doubt he’ll be a frontrunner in 2028.
I just hope he continues making good shit happen and gets the hang of it, because someone with his political talent can get a lot done if they really want to.

You are embarrassed that you were called out on your ridiculous TDS bullshit, blaming Trump for something the Democrats had no interest in fixing, even when they have been in power for most of the previous 16 years now.... we got it

Everything is the orange man's fault... is he in the room with you right now? Can you show us where the bad, orange man touched you? <lmao>

There are numerous jobs where this is an issue- construction is really bad with these kinds of rip offs.
