Nate Diaz and Jake Paul agreed to fight in MMA for rematch in PFL

Who wins in a fight under MMA rules in the PFL? Jake or Nate?

lol bunch of prepubescents who fell in love with Jake are flooding this place as well. I guess my time here is coming to an end… perhaps should have happened a while ago. I’ll admit that he is a brilliant marketer/business man, though.

I gained a lot of respect for Jake in that fight with Nate and taking the Fury L like a man but he lost to Nate and he would get stopped in an MMA match

there is no way Nate beat him in that boxing match

Nate beat the shit out of him save for the knockdown round and 1st RD. Jake got out worked easy .

Bull shit decision to protect their little cash cow

It's true, it does suck.

Especially seeing JP beat old Anderson.. was brutal.

Jake may have had decent HS wrestling, but Nate is very good on the ground. There aren't many guys in the UFC that get subs off their back.

Nate doesn't have to take him down, just has to clinch in order to get the subs he specializes in.

6-12 months to prepare for that level of grappling isn't much time lol

Theres a decent chance of that happening. If Jake actually takes that fight that in itself tells you he and his team think it can be done ,and they obviously understand risk management, stacking the deck in their favour as much as possible and protecting Jakes brand.

Nate is slow, washed up, they'd have him fight at 185lbs too. Add in that he barely kicks and doesnt really try to take the fight to the ground (in spite of his ground game) nor does he have the athleticism to aggressively wrestle even if he wanted to. Also that Jake has already tested his stand up now. Not hard to see why Jake might like the risk/reward of taking that fight.
I agree with all of this, as much as I don't like Jake Paul. I also think he'd lose to most any decent boxer or MMA fighter who's his age and size. The main thing Nate has going for him is experience, which is generally overrated here, but it's still something. If Nate is smart (he's usually not), he'd do a lot of kicks and TD attempts even if he's not good at them. That might throw Jake out of the very limited sprawl-n-brawl plan he'll probably use. Enough annoying kicks, TD attempts, clinching with dirty boxing and knees and other things Jake isn't used to and Nate MIGHT catch a break and snatch a guillotine or chance to hit the ground with Jake (maybe a slip or something).

First of all this fight won't happen.

Secondly, if it does, Nate subs him or even overwhelms him with pressure and strikes.

This... isn't.... boxing.

Kind of like punching a guy at the end of a wrestling match.....

Yeah look that's fair.

I don't see Jake beating other good WW's in mma. I just think of anyone, Nate is a good stylistic match up for Jake.

Nate isn't good at any of the potential foil areas for JP.

I can't recall the last time Diaz threw a damaging kick..

Most dangerous place for Jake would be in the clinch and the potential for Diaz to get a standing back take, or just drag Jake to the mat, fight would be over pretty quick then.

JP and his team are very good at strategy and focused training, I think they'd do a decent job at patching up those vulnerable areas.

Plus Nate'll be older, and JP will be closer to his prime..

Just my take.

Nate is not in his prime anymore but remember the fight he delivered against Pettis for example.
He was able to surprise a lot with a good gameplan and a decent fight iq.
If he can do that again, Paul will be no problem.
That being said, If Paul manages to beat Diaz under MMA rules, it will be the biggest upset I can think of.
I would be astonished and would give the fucker props forever.

I think it's winnable for Jake because of how washed Nate is but I was not impressed with his clinch. He loses to any decent fighter.

You, my friend, could have a bright future as a UFC judge.

Sure Jake could win because of course it's a fight. But really Jake only has 2 ways to win. He is not going to sub Nate Diaz. Did you see the boxing match? Nate showed he can clinch Jake at any time. He can walk through Jakes strikes. Nate is a bjj black belt too so when a clinch happens it's just second nature for Nate at this point. The difference in skills is hilarious. Another problem is Diaz is hard to finish. He's only been ko twice in 34 mma fights. Really hard to see him beat Nate that way even old Zombie Nate. He could maybe win a decision but he'd need more cardio since it's 5 minute rounds in mma. You have to go with the former mma guy on this one who still might come back to the UFC.

What this is is an opportunity for Jake and Nate to make a fuck ton of money. If Jake loses who cares he's 0-0 in mma anyway and he'd lose to Nate Diaz. So fucking what? This is for money.

Nate mauls him in the clinch, no ref to step in and save Jake. He also doesn't have to take Jake down to sub him. Take his back, or front-headlock that forces Jake down into a darce.

If he boxes with 4 oz gloves he'll get knocked out or Dr stoppage
