Good day for wrestlers. Only one who lost out was Terrance McKinney. Really unfortunate because I'm a big fan but he just blew his tank way too quickly. Needs to cut out on the spinning shit and just get really good at boxing methodically, conserving energy.
Azamat Murzakanov and Cody Brundage pulled victory from the jaws of defeat in their fights. Neither was convincing but we'll take it. Tafon Nchukwi is now 2-2 ever since being signed by the UFC at 4-0. Again...I'm not a big fan of rushing prospects. I even think Brundage is too green, but this buys him at least 3 more months to become less green...
Damon Jackson prevailed over Kamuela Kirk. Kirk is one of those new age fighters, they didn't learn wrestling or jiu jitsu or boxing, no. They're the new unstoppable wave of fighters that grew up learning MMA. Damon has a ceiling for sure but I'm glad he is able in this stint to consistently keep the gate.
Cody Law won his fight, it was a small step up in competition but perhaps a bit too incremental. He's ready for at least a slightly bigger challenge, maybe like a regional guy who has 8 or more wins and 3 or fewer losses. Romero Cotton's fight is a laughable joke, but at least he didn't lose to that.
Polizzi won a great fight, I was really happy. Those instincts just kicked in so beautifully and he outwrestled Augusto half-unconscious. His wrestling is so technical and his wrestling attacks are very varied, it's beautiful. Great performance overall, I still think he's really small for the weight class and his striking is just not nearly up to par, but he can't be overlooked either.
Rabadanov took Wilson's O. Gadzhi has a ceiling himself but it's good that he adequately kept the gate.
Eblen still needs work, I think a more boxing heavy style would be more beneficial. But his wrestling is still obviously unmatched in the division.
Also, on the regional scene, Nicholas Meck improves to 3-0, so that's good. He's a guy to watch in the mid-long term.
