Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Jake Hadley.. The other one you have been hyping a lot. Was to be on DWCS but lost his opponent for next week
Kleydson Rodrigues waiting on if he has new opponent still. .

I must admit thought Nasrudin Nasrudinov would win wondered why you ranked Jailton so much higher. Was wrong again that is why I avoid betting. :D

Rodriguez has got Santo Curatolo now, not sure why it's not listed on tapology yet.

Who do you think gets the nod between Morales and Veretennikov? Feel tempted to take a stab at Michael since he's such a big dog, Nikolay's Cinderella story is nice, but I'm thinking it's on borrowed time.

I'm going to take a stab on Morales, he's very young and this is a big step up in competition, but from what I've seen so far he has a very mature fight style, very good athleticism and gradually ramps pressure up in a logical manner to move towards a finish.

Timur Khizriev

Country - Russia
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 25
Promotion - EFC
Record - 11-0

I've been meaning to check this guy out for a while as he was the only blemish on Bibert Tumenov's record before he lost to Omarov and it's safe to say I wasn't disappointed. He looks a fantastic fighter with great wrestling, control, standup and subs. Really the complete package and he could well have an incredible career.

Nariman Abbasov

Country - Azerbaijan
Weight Class - Welterweight
Age : 27
Promotion - FNG
Record - 27-3

I've been a little underwhelmed by Abbasov on occasions before, but I have to give him credit here as he came out all guns blazing against an experienced and high level opponent in Shamil Zavurov and got him out of there without too much issue. Zavurov only tends to lose against top level opposition, so dealing with him this comfortably is a bit of a statement.

Some other randoms while I have a chance

From the Titan card

- Roybert Echeverria (26/Venezuela/BW/6-0) and Ryan Kuse (27/USA/BW/5-0) both easily won in impressive fashion but were in complete squash matches against absolute cans. It's very frustrating with Kuse especially as he actually beat Jornel Lugo as an ammy, who's doing very well at Bellator.

From EFC/AMC

Saygid Izagakhmaev (27/Russia/WW/19-2) looked good in getting another finish against a tough opponent in Maxim Butorin, but he was hype trained recently so I won't do another write up yet. Maybe the UFC might take another look at him giving how well Carlston Harris is doing.

Samandar Murodov (22/Tajikistan/WW/7-0) had an impressive early career performance in beating Maxim Shvets at this stage of his career, nothing spectacular, but very impressive to beat an opponent like that at 22.

I need to catch Rizin before I update the rankings, but here's what we've got this week.

This week is fucking stupid

- Impressive ammy Sola Axel (24/France/MW/1-0) has a tough 2nd pro fight against Wawrzyniec Bartnik (25/Poland/MW/6-1)

Not just the UFC, the odds have Rosales tabbed as the favorite. Keep in mind he was the fav against both Pearce and Bryce Logan.

Based on the footage I saw, I think he'll lose if he decides to stand and trade with Martinez. Should have an advantage on the mat given how incredibly bad Victor is there.

I haven't seen much of Martinez. Looking at his record it doesn't look like either of them should be on the show really.

He's pretty much a half decent brawler that can crack and is durable. Pretty unremarkable but fun fight really.

Morales looked good, worry he is too young for the UFC since we have seen it's not a place for prospect development (ala Chase Hooper)

Nikolay Veretennikov, Steven Nguyen, and Hashem Arkhaga are all good candititates for PFL or Bellator. I expect Nguyen to get an offer from ONE that will beat both since we know how Chatri loves his Asian diaspora signings, but ONE hasn't been signing anyone lately so wonder if the cash is low.

I hope Bellator and PFL passes on all of them, tbh. They are just not ready for the big leagues.

Veretennikov is prime Bellator prelim material though, he'd do well as a stepping stone for prospects. Hell, I'm not convinced he wouldn't be competitive with the likes of Lemminger.

Well, yeah they are good prelims material but I dont see either of them ever cracking the top 10. I guess they can put some good fights but I feel like bigger promotions shouldnt focus only on entertaining fights. They should aim for the higher caliber of fighter possible too and tbh, they are not it.

Bellator definitely needs as many entertaining fighters as they can get, they've prioritized acquiring legit but boring fighters for too long.

Very true, they need to start making more exciting signings. Horiguchi, Shabliy, Usman N, and Rumble are steps in the right direction but for every legit-entertaining fighter they sign, they also sign 2 legit-boring one.

Hashem seems to have power since AJ said that he had never got hit that hard before, seems to have good ground game, and has a chin since he was never Knockouted out completely.

with the weight miss, I doubt UFC brings him back

I think he's low-level, if I'm honest. That's the reason I faded him when betting.

He's no worse than Charlie Ward though, or even the guy that Edwards just lost to, so Bellator would be a nice fit. Could you imagine them making that fight? Would be so depressing if Christian Edwards got chin checked twice in a row by what should be gimme fights.

Pleased Morales got a contract, he's got a very high ceiling imo.

I felt for Curatolo, but I'd never seen Kleydson Rodrigues before and holy shit was I ever impressed by that guy. As much as I love Hadley he might have dodged a bullet there.
