Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Kevin Cordeiro (21/Spain/BW/12-2) looked interesting last night on Combate in submitting Ricky Bandejas. It was a close fight before the sub in which he held his own against a good fighter and then when he got the opportunity to throw the triangle up he hit it well and ended up putting Ricky to sleep. One to keep an eye on.

Ricky took it on two week's notice, so I think Campbell was setting up Cordero to win.

The Brazilian scene I'd say is fairly spread out. Future and SFT are indeed probably the best promotions, I'm hoping LFA make going there a regular thing as it was nice having a lot of the best prospects in Brazil fight each other on the same cards rather than being spread over lots of different promotions.

What happened to Jungle Fight?

Shooto has a card coming up Sept 20 2021 has Lightweight Yamoto Nishikawa 14-3 dude is only 18. a prospect for you to check out, will be fighting Yuki Kawana 16-6-5.

Roberto Soldic (26/Croatia/WW/19-3) produced an okayish performance in beating Kincl. I think it was a little going through the motions by his usual standards but he still won comfortably enough. Maybe they can do the Mamed superfight at MW and after that it's probably time to move on to a bigger pond if possible.

Jakub Wiklacz (24/Poland/BW/12-3-1) pleased me greatly by snatching up a guillotine against boring Antun Racic and getting the finish. A rematch with Przybysz this time for the belt should probably be next for him.

Sky is the limit with this dude. He'd been pointed out to me by @Thesnake101 in this thread before, but I didn't have him ranked as after beating ranked Rodolfo Bellato early in his career he'd been can crushing for some reason.

So I was interested to see how he'd do against Gadzhimurad Antigulov in his first fight since the UFC and a former ACB champ who's obviously much more experienced and has fought at a very high level.

Petrino didn't have it all his own way, after he tired a bit after nearly finishing Antigulov early he had to tough it out a bit and show a good chin to take a couple of shots when he decided to throw down and also had to dig deep to get the KO when tired.

I think it's good to see a prospect face a bit of adversity though. In this fight he showed me superb athleticism (throwing flying knees as a LHW), good power, good strength, good speed, good killer instinct and an ability to get back up off his back against a Dagestani wrestler. Still a little rough around the edges perhaps, but the potential is massive.

That whole event snuck by me, think I know what I'll watch tonight. Good to see Petrino pick up another legit win, hopefully the first of many.

Ramazan Kuramagomedov

Country - Russia
Weight Class - Welterweight
Age : 24
Promotion - UAE Warriors
Record : 9-0

Ramazan has come extremely close to the UFC in the past, once winning on the Contender Series against current roster member Jordan Williams and once being signed as a late replacement to fight Alex Cowboy but then being released when he had to drop out without fighting for the organisation.

On this evidence he's ready for the big leagues. Taking on a 12-3 guy, Ramazan dominated every moment of the fight with his grappling. Initially it's a little bit positional, but he gradually turns up the pace, pressure and strike volume as the fight progresses as he starts to work towards a finish. I know I bag on controlling grapplers a lot, but if you're being active with strikes and working towards a finish I have no problem with it. Ramazan got the finish right at the end of round two here and I'm hoping he gets another UFC chance at some point.

Record : 2-0

Josefine doesn't seem like a very nice lady at all. Going into this fight as a K-1 kickboxer, her opponent could reasonably have expected that grappling her was probably the best idea. Unfortunately for her, every time she did that she got ragdolled, elbowed in the face and had her face mashed in with ground and pound. Obviously things weren't going much better on the feet either.

Looks a scary prospect, can see a little Joanna Jedrzejczyk in her.

This week we have.

DWCS on Tuesday

- Always exciting and aggressive Josh Quinlan (28/WW/USA/5-0) fighting Logan Urban (27/WW/USA/5-1) who I haven't seen but seems to be a can crusher.
- #5 MW Mario Sousa (24/Brazil/MW/12-1) returns to the contender series in a fairly difficult stylistic matchup for him against Bellator vet Chidi Njokuani (32/USA/MW/19-7)
- Saimon Oliveira (30/Brazil/BW/17-3) tangles with Combate's Jose Alday (29/Mexico/BW/14-5-1)
- CJ Vergara (30/USA/FLW/8-2-1) fights a UFC vet trying to get back in 12-3-1 Bruno Korea

Oktagon on Saturday

- Vojto Barborik (28/Slovenia/FW/13-1) has the toughest test of his career against veteran Euro gatekeeper 38-7 Ivan Buchinger

EFC (African) on Saturday

- Igeu Kabesa (27/Congo/FW/12-2) will get another chance to impress me after failing last time, this time against 13-10 Anicet Kanyeba

Eternal MMA is set for Saturday (but I wouldn't count on it, these Aussie events keep getting cancelled)

- Daniel Hill (25/Australia/LW/5-0) might fight Jack Becker (28/Australia/LW/8-2) but probably won't

European Fight Masters on Saturday

- Radoslav Paczuski (28/Poland/MW/3-0) has an intriguing fight against 8-3 Bellator vet Will Fleury

ACA on Saturday

- Ilya Khodkevich (25/Belarus/LW/7-0) and his great jab takes a tough test in 9-4 Vishkan Magomedov
- Bartosz Leko (?/Poland/MW/10-1-2) has a very tough fight against the extremely boring but extremely effective Ibragim Magomedov (?/Russia/MW/7-1)
- Vladislav Yankovskiy (?/Belarus/MW/7-0) fights 9-5 Vadim Shabadash
- Vazha Tsiptauri (?/Georgia/BW/10-1-1) fights 23-10-1 vet Ruslan Abiltarov

Pancrase on Saturday

Do you have a highly touted Russian Hw prospect? You got to book them against Roggers Souza

Unreal potential on this guy, the one thing he needs to continue to work on is TDD and get ups because everyone is going to try and wrestlefuck him. They're going to do that because you can't afford to stand with this guy as he's a tank with unreal power and when I've seen guys in there with him you can kind of see the "oh shit, I need to take this guy down immediately" realisation once they start trading with him.

He's got decent enough TDD to make people work for it at the moment and good sub awareness and is good at explosively getting back to his feet when he gets the opportunity, but I'd like him to work at being a tiny bit more technical with it (which I'm sure he is doing). If he gets that aspect of his game right, then I think we could be looking at a future UFC champion.

I was high on him but his last performance was a stinker. This sounds like he got tired of waiting for the UFC and will look an opportunity at a different promotion. ONE and Brave are my favorite destinations for him.

I think maybe he didn't fancy the Nathan Fletcher fight, that would have been a high risk one. BRAVE would make sense if he still wants to get to the UFC, if he'd had a decent performance against Miller he'd be in the UFC already I think.

It'd be worth Coker asking the question though.

Agreed, I think the fact that he wasnt even called for a spot at DWCS lets you know they have currently no interest in him. This is the right time for him to go and get a decent contract in a different promotion because he still holds the belt and is young.

He could be a good addition to the London card, however, that is almost an impossibility. Im sure he would jump at the chance of a short notice fight for the UFC but not for Bellator. So, I doubt he will be making the move for these Euro cards. He would be a nice addition to the Bellator BWGP, though, so maybe Coker could make a move. I personally dont think its going to happen unless he has a work visa.

Anthony Romero's UFC hopes are over for now, he lost a decision and his unbeaten record to fellow DWCS alumni, JJ Okanovich (now 8-2).
