Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Hashem seems to have power since AJ said that he had never got hit that hard before, seems to have good ground game, and has a chin since he was never Knockouted out completely.

with the weight miss, I doubt UFC brings him back

I haven't seen Arkhaga before but based on that performance he's absolute dogshit.

Pleased Morales got a contract, he's got a very high ceiling imo.

I felt for Curatolo, but I'd never seen Kleydson Rodrigues before and holy shit was I ever impressed by that guy. As much as I love Hadley he might have dodged a bullet there.
I don't remember the last time I was so impressed by someone on DWCS. Curatolo is a good fighter, and Kleydson embarrassed him.

At least with Curatolo's last loss he can justify to himself he got caught. But this fight took his soul.

Updated rankings.

Since last time #1 LHW Jailton Junior, #4 WFLW Jasmine Jasudavicus and #12 MW Cody Brundage have all signed with the UFC, so congratulations to them.

Spent the last hour trawling through the tapology pages of some of these guys. How does Murtaza Talha (LHW) warrant #1 spot on the back of 3-0? Just looks sensational?

Looks great and as an ammy he was 12-0 and a two time IMMAF world champ (the most prestigious ammy title), he also has an ammy win over Turkalj who's #2 in the ranking.

But yeah, his three fights so far have been against people with a combined 14-3 record who were all more experienced as pros than him and he's won all his fights by finish pretty easily.

Jake's UFC ready imo, I hope he gets the deal there.
The fact that he is not saying the UFC makes me think is in another org. Signing woth Brave for a potential fight with Mokaev would be fun.

It's not Mokaev, he was bigging up Blaine O'Driscoll's chances of beating Mokaev in his next post.

UFC or Brave, hopefully Brave.

Maybe Bellator, the event is happening in London in less then 2 weeks. Him not announcing who would also point to Bellator since they are weird with that stuff. Hadley has already fought with Bellator before. Also would probably be at Bantamweight so one of Khurshed Kakhorov vs. Mike Ekundayo

Don't see who he would be replacing on the Brave card since it's not Blaine O'Driscoll or Mokaev

But then he's hashtagging king of flyweight and Bellator doesn't have a flyweight division.

Only other options are he went back to Cage Warriors or Oktagon.

Cage Warriors is a possibility as he's actually already a two promotion world champ and they have a BW title match coming up which he could slot into.

Hadley fought for Bellator before? Didnt know that. The fact is short notice points to Bellator, however...

Bellator has no 125 division.

Why would he hashtag #kingofflyweight, though.

lol good question. Tbf last time I heard him do an interview I'm probably giving him too much credit if I think he's playing some kind of 4D chess with us.
LMAO, so if we dont read too much into it, its either Bellator or UFC. If we attribute him a high IQ and try and decipher all "clues" it really could be anything.

Anatoly Malykhin

Country - Russia
Weight Class - Heavyweight
Age : 33
Promotion - ONE
Record - 10-0

33 is kind of old to be starting a hype train, but heavyweights tend to peak a bit later than smaller fighters so fuck it. Malykhin utterly crushed Amir Aliakbari in their fight and while some of that was Aliakbari looking bad, we still have to consider that he had a good record coming in and had beaten some decent guys, Malykhin made him look like a can, wobbling him early, dominating the world class wrestler in the grappling exchanges and then spectacularly dispatching of him.

Arjan Bhullar must be shitting himself.

Marcus Buchecha

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Heavyweight
Age : 31
Promotion - ONE
Record - 1-0

This is only the 2nd time I've hype trained someone after their pro-debut, but the only real question as to whether Buchecha deserved to be hyped was whether he could translate his BJJ to an MMA setting. The early signs looked promising as he took Anderson Silva (not that one) down with ease before dominating him on the ground in a methodical fashion en route to a sub. Of course the challenge will be against people with decent TDD and we didn't really see anything of his standup, but so far, so good.

Ok_Rae_Yoon_Marat_Gafurov_ONE_on_TNT_III_1920X1280_6.jpeg

Rae Yoon Ok

Country - South Korea
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 30
Promotion - ONE
Record - 16-3

Now while I didn't think Ok won the fight against Christian Lee, I still think he deserves credit for an excellent performance in staying competitive enough to have a debateable decision with someone I think of highly of as Lee. Ok showed nice crisp striking, excellent takedown defence, great submission defence and good cardio to give Lee the toughest test in his recent career. A rematch seems inevitable so he'll get a chance to prove to me that he's the better fighter.

Kim Jae Woong

Country - South Korea
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 28
Promotion - ONE
Record - 12-4

Another spectacular performance in an evening of great performances on the ONE card. Kim has impressed me with his hands before but he took it to the next level here in using his crisp hands to dispatch of former FW champion Martin Nguyen. His next fight could well be against the winner of the Le Vs Tonon match for the title.
