Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Cool. Yeah, ONE is great about putting their stuff up on YT quickly. Gotta remember to use fight pass more often. I have it for Invicta and don't use it much. Especially since Invicta is leaving fight pass.

Yeah, basically for me it's.

Diego Lopes

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 26
Promotion - LUX Fight League
Record : 19-3

Extremely impressed with this dude, fought Masio Fullen who also impressed me by looking much better than he ever did in the UFC. Lopes was able to deal with that and slowly start to figure him out on the feet, then implement his top game for some dominant grappling and then when Fullen decided to take him down he subbed him with an awesome armbar off his back.

He's now beaten three UFC vets in his last four fights in Fullen, Marco Beltran and Rony Jason.

Imo he's ready for the big leagues.

I came here to ask you about him, looks very legit.

Him, Bruno Miranda at LW, Brendo Bispo at FW, and Matheus Mendonca at BW are solid Brazilian prospects. They have been inactive since 2019 so IDK if COVID affected their activity or they just stopped fighting, but they are exciting fighters and are really young.

Very interesting prospect imo, don't know that much about his grappling yet, but he has good power, good takedown defence and has a very methodical method of beating people up before stopping them. Very impressive performance yesterday, I'd like him to have a couple more fights in CW and get the title there before moving on as he's still young in his career, but I'm watching with interest.

Paul Hughes

Country - Northern Ireland
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 23
Promotion - Cage Warriors
Record : 7-1

Rebounded well from suffering his first career setback against Jordan Vucenic (in a fight where I personally thought he just won), with a great performance against another prospect in James Hendin. Hughes is a well rounded fighter who has good, technical, well timed striking and good defensive wrestling and impressive BJJ to go with it. His next fight could well be for the Cage Warriors belt.

Heard a rumour that Paul Hughes is actually English. Could be wrong though...

Ian Garry

Country - Ireland
Weight Class - Welterweight
Age : 23
Promotion - Cage Warriors
Record : 6-0

Ridiculously impressive performance from Garry in his Cage Warriors WW title tournament semi final last night. Took on UFC veteran Rostem Akman who's a guy who went the distance with Jake Matthews and thoroughly outgrappled him in the first round before landing an absolutely brutal walk off head kick KO in the 2nd which Rostem took a good while to get up for this one. Now has a fight with solid CW vet Jack Grant in the final of the tournament, but I'm expecting big things from this kid.

Achilles Estremadura

Country - Canada
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 29
Promotion - Battlefield Fight League
Record : 7-0

A bit older than you'd expect for a LW with his record, but seems to have had some periods of inactivity in his career. Anyway he easily dispatched of his journeyman opponent last night with ridiculously fast hands and varied shot selection. I think at his age he needs to get some fights outside Canada, maybe with the PFL or CFFC to get someone who can give him more of a fight. Might find himself on the Contender Series this summer maybe.

There's something about this dude. He's a double IMMAF champ who was undefeated in the Ammys and now he's turned pro he's beaten three guys with a combined record of 14-3 in his first three fights, all by stoppage. I just like the way he almost looks bored as he casually nullifies everything his opponents do while waiting for his opportunity and finishing them when he gets it .Casually defended a bunch of takedown attempts last night, while waiting for the right angle to elbow his opponent in the head and as soon as he was happy with the angle he KO'd him with the first one he landed.

Very impressive.
