My spotters do what I say. Maybe you need to up your intimadtion game. I reccomend more curls.

My line is. Don't touch the bar unless I scream like a girl. Don't follow me down with your hands just stand there.

- 1 Hour sparring

Good times :-) Moved pretty well today. 6x 6 minute rounds with different opponents. 2 white belts, 1 good blue belt, 1 purple, 2 black belts.
 
And the black belt did smite you biblically

Worked on butterfly guard & passing, good stuff. Couldn't stay for 30 minutes of sparring today, had to get back to work.

I got smashed today. Chewed up & spit out. Just didn't feel great today, everything hurt going into training so I knew it would be rough. But this is the worst I've gotten smashed in a while. I got swepped SO Much today. Tapped so many times. Pretty much sucked & I was discouraged leaving class. But I know I can't have a good day every day, and my BJJ training has been so inconsistent that I should expect to get hammered. Also I was really winded - conditioning is just not there yet.

One of my friends & training partners is getting his black belt on Saturday. Pretty excited for him!
 
I've walked out more times than I can count never wanting to come back. I'd feel stupid and embarrassed at the same time. I think its totally normal.

Well I basically have a 4 day weekend now :) Stoked about that. We're having a massive Halloween party at the house. DJ, dancefloor, Bartender, tons of decorations, costume prizes, etc.. Expecting 50-70 ppl. Gonna be off the hook. So Friday & Saturday I'll be prepping for the party. Sunday & Monday recovering & cleaning up. Hoping to get to e BJJ on Friday eve & again on Sat am. We'll see if I can get clear.

Nursing a multi-day hangover from the Halloween party. Today was rough in the gym. Push Press especially sucked - I'm just having all kinds of problems with the rack.

- 1.5 Hours

Really good training today. Took 2 weeks off the weights & I've been eating good in Hawaii, I think that helped. Heading to Salt Lake City tomorrow for a couple of days. Rolled 4x4 minute rounds, followed by 4x5 minute rounds. All gi, need to start mixing in more no gi. I'm upper right in this pic:

Friday night class - great way to start the weekend! Of course, so are Mai Tai's, but tonight I made the right decision & chose BJJ. Worked some deep half guard stuff, then a half hour of sparring. I did really good tonight. Rolling felt fluid.

BJJ
- 1.5 Hours

Good stuff today. Mental attitude was very good, which allowed me to flow better, trust myself & focus on my body positioning. Did a lot of drilling today with the basic triangle choke - this was excellent for me, since I need to work on triangle defense. Rolled 3 6 minute rounds with 2 purple belts & a blue. Submitted the purple belts twice each, but didn't kill myself to do it. I did a good job surviving & escaping when I was in trouble, capitalized on subs when they presented themselves. Really good day.
 
Having the confidence to allow yourself to do what you need to is a major part of the game. That split second of doubt is what slows your game and makes you so much less effective.

BJJ
- 1 Hour

Tough class tonight. Professor Testai is hurting us before Thankgiving lol. I knew I was in trouble when the warmup was tough :) Then we worked takedowns hard (which I did surprisingly good at). It was a large class, so the purples, brown, black belt & a pro fighter were grouped together for training. I got a takedown against the pro & submitted him, which made me happy lol. But I got WINDED fast. Here's what I learned:

1) My conditioning is terrible. Seriously.
2) The evening classes are way more intense & full of more talent. I need to suck it up & go in the evenings. When I go in the mornings, I'm rolling with Blues & purples. When I go in the evening I'm rolling with Purples, Browns, Blacks & pro fighters. Seriously different level.

And I fuckered my back up somehow. Sucks. Gonna hit the jacuzzi & sleep with a heating pad, hopefully that helps.
 
Skip the heating pad. Go rent two hot Eskimo chicks. You'll either me fine or dead by morning
 
Really jacked my back up last week - it still hurts. Hopefully better tomorrow, I'm flying to Atlanta & then driving up to Kentucky to spend some time with family. Haven't been there in years - it'll be nice to be back on the farm.

Great training today. Worked some details on the bow & arrow choke. Worked guard for a while then did 2x10 minute rounds with another purple belt. I did pretty good until I got winded. Lack of conditioning is killing me.
