Now THAT is an awesome trophy!

Congrats again!

I agree, shame there's no video of the caber. Probably my second favorite event.

I flip railroad ties end over end in the air for warmup.

I don't log it for liability reasons.

Caber is probably the coolest of all the events. Weren't you really fighting it a week or two ago

How.much distance would have have gained had you cut the sleeves out of that shirt?

Yep, I've been struggling with Caber. The one in this comp was lighter than the one I practice with though, so I think that helped a lot.

Several guys actually did cut the sleeves off the shirts when they got them. I probably should have as well. Not sure how much it would have added, but it would have been significant.

Congrats Calvus!

I really can't wait to start throwing again this year.

Thanks, man - when's your 1st comp going to be?

1x475 <-- +10lb PR!!!
5x1x415 <-- 60sec rest between sets

After deadlifts, my neck was bothering me a bit. I tweaked it a week ago at throwing practice and its still not 100%. So I decided to call it a night. Pretty happy with the deadlift PR, I'm looking for 500 by mid-year. All in all, not a bad workout after feeling like crap all week last week & not working out.

There appears to be a few more pounds there to squeeze out

Didn't have much time today & really wanted to get 320. Unfortunately, although I felt GREAT warming up, it didn't happen. Oh well...I'm in Hawaii next week, and won't really work out. I'll be back to a real workout schedule week after next and pushing for some new PR's by mid-year.

Congrats on the pull PR! And I don't know when my first games is yet. I'm looking at a powerlifting meet in April.

One thing I have found in my travels and holidaying is that in hotel gyms you can frequently do heavy or at least reasonably heavy tricep work, and you can often do Glute Ham Raises. The hotels I'm going to, they usually have dumbbells going upto 30kg (66lbs) which will allow most people to do lying tricep extensions, albeit maybe only for higher rep work for stronger people. Plus many have something for cable tricep pulldowns, which are a legitimate tricep assistance exercise. For GHRs, a lot of these gyms have one of those sit-up benches that you can lie face down on, get the back of your ankles under the knee support, and do them. Between those and flexibility/mobility work, you can do something that will help you when you get back to a proper gym.
