10 (5L/ 5R) Turkish get ups
20 (10 L/ 10R) clean and push press
30 sumo deadlift high pulls
40 KB swings

love it! do you prefer Russian (hands parallel with floor at top of swing) or US (go to overhead) when you KB swing?

I prefer American. But the 2 pood was quite heavy and I was concerned about control. The best I could do was about 45 degrees above the shoulder.
 
Monday 8/30- trained with Sarah

as a follow up to this work out I'm thinking about 'Venom'

wind sprints with 10 box jumps x5
L sit
ball slams
dips
bouldering work

Re-penned this as 'Nightcrawler'.
50 yard sprint and 10, 36" box jumps X5 - came up a little short on the box jumps. I couldn't get to the full standing position at the top of the box.
50 sec L sit
50, 8lb medicine ball slams
50 tricep dips
ARAMP bouldering 20 min- I got 24.5 points.

I got the Turkish get ups a little easier this time. My form seems to be improving.
also much higher on the KB swings.

I'm considering for the clean and press to add a squat in there.

Over all, the 2 pood kettle bell is a good weight to work with.
 
this is great stuff.

have you thought about sotts presses with the KBs? or a KB deadlift-high pull? those might be some different variations.
 
Saturday 9/4
marathon climbing session outside at Ice pond.
 
Tuesday 9/7- Sarah picked the work out
20 pull ups
traverse the long wall there and back
20 pull ups
50 'W' sit outs (once in each direction counts as 1)
50 squats w/ round house kick (1 rep is squat left kick squat right kick)
20 pull ups
traverse the long wall there and back
20 pull ups

good work out. I'd like to revisit this one with 30 pull ups as the caps and perhaps another round of 'W' sit outs.

skill work was dyno practice. perhaps we would have been better of starting with this.
 
Wednesday 9/8- 5.5 miles at Teatown trails. finished under 1 hour

I though of a game to play out on the trails:
Using the logs and stones that are abound perform
a dead lift for 1 point
clean or Zercher for 2 points
Overhead press or Turkish get up is worth 3

squat for an additional point
Overhead squat for +2

you'd have to compete with a friend to push the amount of weight used.
 
Friday 9/10-
2+ hour bouldering at the Cliffs. Knock out a V4+

Saturday 9/11- a full day of heavy yard work. Hacking in the edging with a spade is tough work.
 
Monday 9/13
2+ hours bouldering at the Cliffs. So close to a V5+. it's going down the next time I climb.
 
Monday 10/11- It's been a while since I've updated.

I just got back from vacation in the French Alps. Hiked 6 days straight. Must have covered 40 miles with a 40 lb pack. good times. Drank a bunch of good beer brewed right in Chamonix.

good bouldering session. I worked on a number of V-5s

50 downward dog/ chaturanga/ upward dog
50 planks with bow each side
50 cartwheels
50 arches
50 wood choppers with 8lb medicine ball, ball toss at top.

'Are you tired'
5 rounds of 10 tractor tire flips
2 rounds of 5 flip/ sprawl/ box jump with increasing reps of sprawl/ box jump
2 rounds of 10 tire jumps
tabata sledge hammer
2 rounds 440m overhead truck tire runs.
 
Monday 10/25
Climbed routes. hit a few 5.10s and got a 5.10+
50 body rows from rope
50 table top to 1 leg push up
50 plank, in/ out, alternating knees to elbows
50 8lb medicine ball slams.

Bouldered weak- back was tired from Monday's workout. I think this means I should do more body rows.

2 rounds of:
20 hanging toes to hands
20 jinga lunges each side
20 each, legs side to side headstands
20 each arches
2 laps bear crawl
 
Friday 10/29
bouldering session. I can feel the efforts of the calisthenics catching up. I should throttle back for a day or two. perhaps mixing some cardio.

2 rounds of;
10 handstand push up off perfect push-up handles
20 pull ups
20 ninja jump ups with knee tuck
20 bridge push ups
2 laps bear crawl
