Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Noah Centineo (Warfare) and Roman Reigns (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw) are in talks to star in Legendary’s live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the Capcom video games, sources tell Deadline.

According to Jeff Sneider, Andrew Koji is in talks to play Ryu and Noah Centineo is set to play Ken Masters. Roman Reigns is in negotiations to play Akuma. Per Borys Kit, his sources inform him Jason Momoa will play Blanka.

Plot of the film remains under wraps. In February, Bad Trip‘s Kitao Sakurai boarded as director, inheriting the project from Talk To Me‘s Danny & Michael Philippou, who attached themselves in April of 2023, following Legendary’s acquisition of exclusive film and TV rights to the Street Fighter IP. The film adaptation is being co-developed and co-produced alongside Capcom, the developer and publisher of the video games. No word has emerged yet on who has written and who specifically will produce the actioner.

Launched in 1987, Street Fighter is a series of fighting games revolving around intense one-on-one battles between a diverse cast of martial artists. The games often center around a global fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organization Shadaloo. Street Fighter has sold over 55 million units worldwide since launch, making it one of the most well-known and highest-grossing video game franchises of all time.

Known for roles on the series Warrior and Gangs of London, as well as films like Bullet Train and Boy Kills World, Koji will next be seen starring in the Tubi Original Worth the Wait and Prime Video heist series Haven, among other projects.

Coming off of Warner Bros and Legendary’s phenomenon A Minecraft Movie, which is approaching $1B at the global box office, Momoa will next be seen starring in Apple’s miniseries Chief of War, out August 1, and Legendary’s live action/animated road trip adventure Animal Friends, out October 10. Other upcoming projects include Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (where he plays Lobo), Dune: Messiah (where he reprises as Duncan Idaho), and action comedy The Wrecking Crew opposite Dave Bautista, to name just a few.

Centineo was most recently seen starring in A24’s intensely immersive Warfare, from Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza, as well as Netflix’s spy series The Recruit.

A pro wrestler born Leati Joseph Anoa’i with one of the longest world title reigns in the history of the WWE, Reigns has previously made appearances in films like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and The Wrong Missy.

ELDEN RING Live-Action Movie in the Works from A24 with Alex Garland to Write and Direct

After hits like The Last of Us and Minecraft, A24 is doubling down on video game adaptations.

The studio known for auteur-driven films has officially confirmed it is partnering with Bandai Namco Entertainment on a live-action feature movie of Elden Ring. A24 regular Alex Garland, who most recently released Warfare with the studio, will write and direct the feature.

Last month, it was reported that A24 is developing a live-action adaptation of the video game Death Stranding with Quiet Place: Day One director Michael Sarnoski

Based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin and developed by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring is a dark fantasy role-playing game that allows users to explore a fantasy world that includes dragons, beasts, castles and dungeons. The plot of the game, which takes place in a mythical realm known as the Lands Between, revolves around the Elden Ring, a powerful artifact that has been shattered, plunging the Lands Between into war and chaos. The player is tasked with restoring the Elden Ring.

Elden Ring was released on Feb. 25, 2022, and has since shipped more than 30 million units worldwide and has been awarded numerous “Game of the Year” honors. A spin-off game, Elden Ring Nightreign, is set for release next week on May 30.

A fantasy action movie like Elden Ring is a big swing for the studio that has been pushing into larger budgeted features. Garland’s Civil War was the studio’s biggest budgeted movie so far, with upcoming films Marty Supreme starring Timothee Chalamet and Smashing Machine starring Dwayne Johnson other expensive outings.

Elphaba looks like a superhero. There's a hint of Batman in there. But she reminds a whole lot of Thor (with the broom summoning) and Superman (with the flying).

Mia Goth to Play Villain Opposite Ryan Gosling in Shawn Levy's STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER

Mia Goth has joined Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, the feature from director Shawn Levy.

Gosling is leading the new feature project, which is expected to begin production this fall in England. It is scheduled to open May 28, 2027.

Details on the project are scant, but it does involve Gosling playing a character that must protect a young charge against evil pursuers.

Goth will play one of the pursuers. It is the same role that Mikey Madison had been circling before her deal blew up like a Death Star — over money matters.

The film is a stand-alone story that will be unconnected to the so-called Skywalker Saga, the stories centered on well-established and beloved characters Luke Skywalker and his father, Anakin. The events of Starfighter take place approximately five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

“This is a stand-alone. It’s not a prequel, not a sequel. It’s a new adventure. It’s set in a period of time that we haven’t seen explored yet,” Levy said at April’s Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

Goth earned accolades and gathered a fanbase thanks to starring in Ti West’s trilogy of horror movies that include X, Pearl, and MaXXXine. She played several roles in stories set in the 1910, 1970s, and 1980s.

She will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, starring with Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi, and has a mystery role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Elemental Filmmaker Peter Sohn Will Direct Pixar's THE INCREDIBLES 3 with Brad Bird Writing the Script

Peter-Sohn-Directing-Incredibles-3.jpg

Pixar is shaking things up for Incredibles 3. Peter Sohn (Elemental, The Good Dinosaur) will direct the third installment of the critically and commercially successful animated series.

Brad Bird wrote the screenplays for and directed the first two films in the franchise, which have earned a combined $1.8 billion at the box office. Bird is currently in the process of writing the screenplay for the threequel, which will be produced by Bird and Dana Murray (Oscar-winning Soul).

The franchise follows married couple Bob and Helen Parr (Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter) who live in the quiet suburbs with their three children after being forced to hide their superpowers by a new government mandate. Samuel L. Jackson and Sarah Vowell are part of the main cast.

The first Incredibles was released in 2004 and won the Academy Award for best animated film the following year. Incredibles 2 was released 14 years later, and earned $1.24 billion globally.

Disney officially announced a third film at the D23 Expo event in August 2024, with Bird “developing” the new project, although no more information was given as to what capacity he would be involved. Bird’s schedule seems to be the reason as to why he is not directing the third film in the franchise, given he’s in pre-production on Skydance’s Ray Gunn.

Sohn and Bird have a long history of collaboration: Sohn has worked on every animated Bird film (including The Incredibles and Incredibles 2) up until this year’s Ray Gunn. Bird has been a mentor to Sohn, and Sohn was specifically chosen to carry The Incredibles torch by Bird and Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter. Sohn is a Pixar veteran, having also voiced characters in various movies for the studio, like Ratatouille, Monsters University and Lightyear. Elemental, Sohn’s second movie that he directed at Pixar, was nominated for the best animation feature Oscar last year.

He mentioned Gal Gadot isn't involved .

That's actually a good thing.
She's now 40 and the new DCEU continuity having the same castings of the old DCEU would be too confusing.

And the more roles Gadot has taken over the last decade the more it's been harder to keep a secret she can't act.

She was the perfect visual representation of Wonder Woman, and her very limited acting range was hidden in the 1st movie by the 'Stranger in a strange land' storyline with her very heavy accent.... And she was at least trying to act... But since then she's been like a rapper taking a role in a movie playing a rapper.

Movie producer - "I need a gorgeous woman to be herself in front of a camera and recite some lines. Give me Gal Gadot."

Robert Eggers to Direct A CHRISTMAS CAROL for Warner Bros. with Chris Columbus Producing

Robert-Eggers-Directing-The-Lighthouse.jpg

Warner Bros. Pictures is hoping to be blessed with a new feature based on A Christmas Carol.

Robert Eggers is set to write and direct a movie adapting author Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story set at Christmas. Eggers will produce the project alongside Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus for Maiden Voyage.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported last year that Eggers’ next project as director is the werewolf horror movie Werwulf. Eggers co-wrote the script for the film that Focus Features has set for theatrical release on Christmas Day of 2026.

Dickens’ novella A Christmas Carol was first published in 1843 and centers on miserly Ebenezer Scrooge learning from the ghost of late business partner Jacob Marley that he will be visited by three spirits.

Previous screen adaptations include a 2019 British television version starring Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, Stephen Graham, Charlotte Riley and Joe Alwyn. Robert Zemeckis helmed a 2009 animated feature version starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge.

Eggers most recently directed the vampire film Nosferatu with a cast that includes Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe. Focus Features released the remake of the 1922 silent classic in theaters in December, and it surpassed $180 million at the global box office.

The filmmaker’s other previous features include The Northman, The Lighthouse and The Witch. He said in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes earlier this year that he has no plans to make movies set in present-day, explaining at the time, “The idea of having to photograph a car makes me ill.” [So, that's a no on directing Fast & Furious and Transformers?]
