Economy More socialism for farmers

Too bad every economist in the country said the tariffs wouldn't do anything besides hurt Americans. If only someone would have let Trump know that beforehand.

If only . . .
It´s becoming pretty clear what Trump uses tariffs and deals for

The threat of tariffs helped fast track a 1.5 billion dollar resort in Vietnam for Trump.

That´s on top of giving the UAE access to AI chips to enrich his crypto company. The UAE will probably give China access to the AI chip tech as well.

The corruption of Trump is at cartoon villain levels.

The corruption of Trump is at cartoon villain levels.

Putin-esque in trying to raid the country like a personal piggy-bank to the benefit of himself and inner circle.

It must be tiring being outraged all the time. I love to see the therapeutic crying amongst the opposition, it's good you all have each other to lean on.

I have long wondered about farm subsidies and the sense they make. Difference is I didn't pretend I have the answers.

This is not about regular farm subsidies. It´s about a bailout with tax payer money for a problem Trump caused, not just once but twice. First and second term.
It must be nice for Trump to have such a clueless base to fall back on. I´m sure you can find a way to blame the dems, immigrants or trannies.

It's true this isn't effectively drawing from tax revenue, unless something has changed, but last I checked, and this has already been discussed on Sherdog, something like 80% of tariff revenue was being devoted to agricultural subsidies, so nearly the entirety of the tariff surplus (which is really just a glorified consumer tax of the American people in the first place) is funding these handouts.

Of course there was always going to be a cost to confronting China. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this. Although what we are really confronting is our own addiction to cheap Asian goods because we're a junkie that can't quit of our own volition, so Trump is trying to be Betty Ford restraining us in our rehab cell.

So I don't really know what the right thing to do is. Seems like a rock and a hard place.
It’s not true , Tarriffs are tax revenues and goes into the treasury departments where the president isn’t supposed to have the authority where it’s going to be spent anyway but wait …I forgot Donald is in office . Lol

This is just a shit show he’s putting a temporary patch on his trade wars he created and the 80% figure is inaccurate, tariff collection and farm support has been a policy decision for damage control with his trade war ,

We’re not surprised by this he’s literally giving back some relief that a situation he caused in the first place but now can’t actually reverse anything in the long run , that’s a great analogy though thst WERE the junkies and he’s helping us get off of Chinas products…that’s a good one ,yea he’s been so helpful as president particularly helping bankrupt businesses . 😂

Scary these guys don’t even know Tarriffs are tax revenue and think they are separate spending budgeting. Lol

The goofs are applauding for trump taxing them, raising costs on every American, then bailing out some of them for the problem he caused.

I feel like I'm living in some dystopian novel.

Hopefully MAGA becomes an official word eventually in the dictionary and your phrase there will be used as an example of how it’s used under the definition which should go somewhere in between clueless and ignorant.

Then we can look back and laugh at all these stupid posters . Lol

Fun fact: only 6% of US farmland produces food directly consumed by Americans.

The US is also a net exporter of food.

So not only are these farmers socialists, they're globalists too.

and they'll just keep falling for it, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and we're all supposed to thank them for the privilege. strip these idiots of their voting rights until they learn how to read

"Yeah but they feed America!"

Except the ones getting bailed out grow soy for industrial use or their #1 customer is China.

To be clear; I’m not against farmer’s receiving subsidies, as a general principle. But IMO it is also fair game to point out that a group receiving subsidies(presumably in addition to the subsidies they already receive), voted for the party/candidate that both (1) are the primary cause of their need for those subsidies, and (2) typically are against other safety nets that would help other people, eg healthcare, combatting homelessness, and a livable wage.

I don’t think anyone of you guys have to pretend to not have any answers, none of you can still name one person in the Trump administration that is qualified and why ,so any other questions will be very difficult for you . Lol

Yes, we're all aware it's an import tax. I was responding to the colloquialism "my tax money" from the OP which is language we usually use to refer to our income taxes and other money we send back to the IRS through W forms annually.

If you're going to nitpick that, then I can easily dismiss your bitching here, "but wait...I forgot Donald is in office" by highlighting the fact that Trump isn't actually redirecting the tariff revenue or drawing from treasury funds that are allocated by Congress. He is drawing the aid from existing USDA funds through the Department of Agriculture, and he has the authority (with precedent!) to do this.

We all just accept this aid is offset by collected tariff revenue because we accept that this is the effective cause of the agricultural sector's distress. The 80% figure is one I quoted off the top of my head from prior analysis evaluating the disruption through this lens.

I shouldn't have to spell this shit out. It's so basic.

Tariffs are a tax. They voted for a tax hike.
Its amazing how little the average Trump voter on here knows about his actual policies. The immigrant/trannie culture war bullshit is quite the distraction for these morons
Millions losing healthcare, gutting worker and consumer rights and protection etc. Just doesnt register for them how extremely bad his policies are.

They are trained seals. They clap on demand. Doesn't matter for what...just that their trainer demanded that they clap.
