Elections More Americans Identify as Republican than Democrat for the first time in 30 Years

Kill them belonged to an audience member at a recent rally.
I knew that didn't come from Trump. -1
The first two belong to Trump. Here’s a decent video regarding trumps history with eugenics. and Trump has referred to migrants as animals and vermin more than once. Everyone who is paying attention has noticed his language is become much darker. Why risk electing this man? This will take the country to a very dark place imo. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tr...michigan-woman-immigration-speech-2024-04-02/

whole buncha crap taken out of context. -2

Crazy, but they're still not going to win the popular vote.
Not that it makes any difference at all, but she's ahead 1.4 point on the RCP average that has been off by 6 points in favor of both of his last 2 opponents, and Trump is actually leading nationally in 2 of the last 3 polls.

The more republicans than democrats things matters more for house and senate elections, but Trump very well could win the popular vote even with the 7 million vote head start dems get from CA, NY and Chicago.

It's true. Democrats beat Republicans on just about every issue except for progressive things like identity politics and immigration. The problem is that the younger progressive wing is growing, and democrats are afraid of alienating that section.

I say force the moderate views, just like Biden. If progressives would rather sit it out than vote for Kamala, it's on them.
If they ignore the true believers people become apathetic, it's like what happened to Mit Romney. Centrists are never popular for long.

This is beyond cringe. How many people know or remember this SNL character? The skits with her were never funny when SNL was halfway decent.

"Don't you see man? We need a woman to represent us. A woman brings more heart, more compassion. And think how smart she must be to be a top contender in a field dominated by men. It's time for a woman, bro!"

Agreed, but I would add the rampant inflation that has occurred under Biden's administration to the list. Americans react most immediately to how their pocketbook is being hit.

That last thing would seem to have a silver lining for Democrats. Because the jobs market is good, real estate prices are coming down, and inflation is finally under control, on a downward trajectory, with the Fed finally confident enough to cut rates. The question is whether Americans believe it, whether they personally experience that relief with the pricing of goods on the proverbial 'main street', and whether they will forgive the hurt they've felt the past four years so quickly.
I paid 17 bucks for bacon, which usually goes for 12(already too high in 2023)…. Food prices are still outrageous…. I’m certain that meat products are still going up, while grains are starting to go down, but going from 3 to 4 to 5 back to 4…. Been getting quite a bit of meat from the food bank via auntie, they give away patties at times, and auntie loves picking them up

Remember when he called the drug cartels "coyotes" and all the libs got upset? "All they want to do is traffic a few pounds of fentanyl and open a food cart! WAHHHH!"

More Americans identify as Republican than Democrat for first time in 30 years, polling shows

A bit more about this relationship to election history from the WSJ:

Rare GOP advantage takes pressure off Trump to win over independent voters

And the Gallup itself (one of the major polling bodies mentioned in the articles above):

2024 Election Environment Favorable to GOP

On the major issues-- perhaps explaining the shift:

Relationship to electoral history as a line graph:

As we've seen in recent decades, especially recent years, as some of those articles highlight, the new truly vital American battleground is over American independents, who are the fastest growing group with more relaxed polling of self-identification. But those numbers don't reflect some overwhelming drop. We're still talking about over 80% of the respondents identifying with one of the two major parties, not the swollen 40% figures of "unaffiliated" voters we've seen in some surveys in recent years.

Carville looms.

My republican dad never voted for a DEm until traitor Trump came along.

How many of these people actually identify as Republican and how many are simply Trump supporters. Republicans have been getting killed for a while now on demographics (race and age) and Trump was good at getting the last bastion of untapped voters, angry ass edgelords. The type of people who get their information from 4chan. Wonder how many of these new Republicans will be reliable voters when Trump is gone. Hell how many are even going to vote in this election.

How many witch hunting misery spreading Democrats are reliable Democratic voters?

How many just want to be on the cool side instead of caring about policy at the same time pop culture is gonna get balkanized?

Polls in Michigan have Arabs and Muslims favoring Donald Trump. Blacks men and Latinos much higher than ever for Donald Trump and the GOP. Democrats have lost the working class and are losing male voters.

I'm not sure about that. Got a source that isn't chalk full of right wing bias? But if you want to talk individual states, TX is very close to becoming purple. That happens the GOP will be royally screwed. Plus the party is running out of ridiculous wedge issues to bank on. And considering how Trump trounced all the other GOP candidates it seems there isn't a whole lot of confidence in the party outside of Trump. When he is gone will be the true test of the viability of the party.

TYT is very leftwing and they are talking about Arab Americans supporting Donald Trump. Republicans have J. D. Vance, Vivek Ramasamy, Matt Geatz and Ron DeSantis who are all younger Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom.

Who told you TX is going purple? That's 100% bullshit. Democrats haven't won statewide in 30 years. Beto O Rourke was supposed to be the guy to turn TX left but he lost his races to be governor and senator. Trump will win TX by at least 8 points.

TYT is not very left-wing lol. They're pretty much centrists and have been for years. Ana is basically a conservative at this point and we're all waiting for her "why I left the left" video.

I have trouble believing it. Donald Trump is going out there and saying that Biden isn't sending the weapons fast enough. Who knows though, this election has already surprised me enough.

It isn't imminent or something, but as the demographics have changed with businesses moving there the possibility of the state going purple has been a topic of discussion. Looking at the polls for the current election, the margin that Trump has in TX is pretty low relative to other states that are staunch red or blue. I'm not talking like this will happen tomorrow, but the trending isn't looking hot.

Once Trump starts kissing Israel's ass any sentiment Arabs have for Trump will go bye bye. As for Blacks, I heard it last time how Trump was going to totally nail their vote and they ended up voting as they traditionally have.
