Multiplat Monster Hunter Wilds "We Are So Back" Hype Thread

Loving the game so far. Hope everyone else is having fun.

PS5 performance mode is running fairly steady. How's everybody doing on PC? Over a million(wow!) concurrent players on Steam but less than 50% positive reviews due to performance issues.

Not worth the price but the touchpad art is nice; I'm guessing it's inspired by the wyvern mounts.

alright, i've decided that i can tolerate monsters carlos conditting their way across the map so i think i'm gonna stick with this.

broke down and bought the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition Digital Deluxe for $24.99 CAD off cdkeys.com which is way cheaper than i'd have to pay to get the game and the expansion off steam, so i figured it would be worth it just so i can actually play online and do all the tonnes of quests i'd be missing out on in the pirated copy because those activities are all gated behind online events so that's no-bueno for my copy.

but i'm starting to get the hang of it now. the dual blades are way more fun, fast and efficient then the greatsword starting off.

yeah i'm getting into it. at first having to chase some monsters down in the middle of a battle kinda pissed me off but i think i can deal with it now. haven't had too much trouble yet.

yeah i can see myself getting into these games. it's not over my head just yet. but god damn that barroth fight had me on the brink of defeat. there was a god damn final fantasy cactaur beside it and it unleashed its infamous 1000 needles attack on me and ktfo'd me. i couldn't help but to laugh as i wasn't expecting something like that to have been put into this game! it was gone by the time i went back for revenge though thank god.

I put hundreds is hours into Freedom Unite and Worlds/Iceborne, and I concluded that the Great Sword pissed me off by nature. I never liked Dual Blades, and used Sword and Shield when I had to move fast.

My go-tos were Lance/Gunlance and Heavy Bowgun, as in Freedom Unite, Tigrex and it's homing charge attack was damn near impossible to dodge and having a shield made the monster a moot point. It kind of screwed me over at the end of Iceborne though, when fast movement and damage checks became mandatory.

I'm holding off on Wilds for now. Paid full price on Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and I'm not willing to pay for anymore games until I've rebuilt my finances after buying my own home.

How is Wilds so far?

Is that the sequel to Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii? Just messing with you lol

Grabbed my Steelbook tonight, going to wrap up Lies of P before I jump into this but I’m thinking I should finish this weekend. Can’t wait

Just now firing it up. Will only get a bit of time tonight but no plans for tomorrow other taking care of a few chores around the house and racking up some hours.

not gonna bother with wilds until they flesh it out more and optimize it for pc. but i'm having a good time with world so far.

playing again this morning farming the jyaratodus for mats to craft me my madness pangas and in one of my battles i beat the living shit out oof it and then it retreated to an area where there was a barroth just chilling and then the barroth gave the jyaratodus an RKO from the top rope and then the jyara limped and retreated back to its original spot to take a nap and then i flatlined it. that was fucking hilarious.

this game is fucking dope i can't believe it took me this long to to stumble into it. it's gonna take me a while to get around to wilds because there seems to be a whole lot of shit baked into this one.

i was also hunting some other monster in that map and in the middle of chasing after it i stumbled into a diablos. and it fucked me up in one shot. that was a rather harrowing experience. i don't think i'm supposed to be fighting that thing just yet.

Some really cool new monsters. Rey Dau is my fav fight so far. Such a cool design and i even managed to bring him out the sky with my first successful offset attack lol

Actually forgot how good Monster Hunter is, haven't played one since World the year of release, kicking myself that I never played Iceborne now.

Loving Wilds so far, totally addicted lol. Using the insect glaive with the bow as secondary.

Love just darting about in the air with the glaive it's epic.
