News Miesha Tate says that she spent 98% of her return fight purse covering training expenses

Did she not get a $50,000 bonus undeservingly for that sh*tty performance because Dana White really wanted to be kind to her and she still comes up with those fake broke stories?

20% for training and management?
<{walkerwhut}>
Should be no more than 10%

Fighters from out of country are taxed heavily.... this is why K-1 used to pay under the table and only disclose a minimal amount officially. And even that was approx 50%.

She's back in the country now.

You have to give a percentage of your purse to your coaches, management, and anyone else involved in your fight camp. Also, any travelling that they have to do to come to you to train you is on your dime. Speaking of someone who has been a part of many corners I can tell you that there are more expenses than you know and many fighters barely break even. $200,000, after taxes, is not a lot of money considering most fighters don’t have a job outside of training and fighting. She hasn’t had a job in over a year, and left one two years ago. Thankfully, she still has some money left over from her one days and her fiancé has money of his own, but people still have to live and she has two children. A mortgage loan for most people will suck at least $1000 a month. Add expenses of living and training and vehicles that everyone has? $200,000 is not a lot of money in two years. I make way more than that and I’m a nurse. Don’t get me wrong, once she starts getting more sponsors and if she wins a couple more fights her money will get better. I don’t get why guys are so chapped about this it really is a no-brainer.

Then just do like the rest and go on Only Fans. Why should i care that someone has shit tier budgeting skills? Cry me a fucking river.
Yeah man, wtf is this shit? Cannoiner, or however the fuck you spell it, hes crying too. Hey, dont sign that contract then!

Tate wanted to go shit out a kid and pursue other things. I cant sympathize because shes a professional cage fighter, shes supposed to be a different breed.

I cant identify with this shit whatsoever, especially someone that shit out a kid whom isnt married.

...shes not married, right?

you're a nurse (admirable profession) and you make more than (equivalent) US$100,000 per year? (ok you get paid in Can$ but the 200k for Tate is in USD).

That's awesome if you do. I once had to go to ER somewhere in downtown Vancouver, and the staff there were amazingly nice and professional I have to say.

Pretty sexist referring to her fight pay as a purse. What’s next, referring to a mans fight pay as a wallet?

I do a lot of OT. I do well. Which hospital? St Paul’s?

Kids are not “shit out” and if you think they are you need an anatomy lesson. Male fighters have kids all the time and nobody criticizes that, married or not. She’s has the uterus so biology. She is engaged. They have 2 children.

Don't quite remember. Was a long time ago about 2005 or 2006. I was staying on pendrell st at the time and I had a cardiac event (well that was my perception at the time) and called for an ambulance and got taken to a nearby hospital I think it was in Davie St.
It definitely wasn't far away from where I was staying, maybe 2 or 3kms max. Had some ECG tests and whatever and was discharged later that night. Was impressed with Canadian medical care in Van. Cost me a few hundred bucks but that's OK.

Yes that would’ve been Saint Pauls, they are actually one of the best cardiac hospitals in the world. A lot of research is done there and they do all of the heart transplants in the province. I used to date one of the cardiologists there. Great care.

Here Is The Thing:

She has a point. Having personal trainers in multiple martial arts can be very costly+ top nutrition and supplements are going to ring you up. Now if hypnotically, someone is going to use banned substance, you want to get the good ones with the least amount of side effects while giving you the best results. But wait, you also need a masking agent as well which can also be costly.

Truth Be Told:

That being said, even for a natural athlete, it is going to be very expensive. For example, paying massage therapist, private lesson in boxing, judo, kickboxing, wrestling and jujitsu is going to be very costly if they are all top level coaches. Like each might charge 500 dollars an hour if they are famous. So even if you train naturally, you will be needing to dish out the big bucks or get super lucky and find extremely amazing trainers who are not well known names but still know what they are doing.

If you’re paying 500 hour for private training because that person is famous, you deserve to be swindled. Fighters are not very smart with their money, history has shown that. Meissen is no different, she retired had cushy for the alleged best MMA promotion outside of the UFC, but yet she’s broke. These are just not good with money, that’s it. They are making more money than 90% of the humans in the workforce, I have no sympathy. Meisha go get a real job like the rest of us.

I agree and that's why I believe one should find great unknown trainers with a lower fees. But truth is, famed trainers will milk their services and fighters who are inclined to go for the "best" when it comes to their training will pick a well known trainer just so they feel like they covered their basis sort of speak. Like they can say that they went for the best.

She’s not broke. I never said she was broke, just that she spent her purse. She is doing just fine.

Yep, sometimes right training partners and mindsets just mesh. Look at Holloway, training out of Hawaii, with his close friends and not only became a top fighter, he became a champion and arguably the greatest 145lb fighter ever. You think a guy like that is spending more than what he earned for his fight camp? Some people are just gifted and talented and then some people just can’t fathom the fact they just arnt that good no matter where and how much money they spend for a fight. She’s spending all this to recapture glory, I think MMA is passed her, I don’t think she’ll be champion again.
