Sony has stated that Game Pass isn’t a sustainable model for them. It isn’t for anyone not named Microsoft.

Sony invests and builds their 3rd party studios, MS buys out studios with established IPs. Two different strategies. At the moment, I prefer Sony’s first party’s exclusives over MS and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I think both probably have tricks up their sleeves but I think PS will have the better surprises.

The monopoly arguments remind me of when Zuffa bought Pride. Is MMA better or worse after that purchase? I’ll be honest I don’t really watch MMA anymore so maybe it is a bad thing.

But MS is far from a monopoly at this point. Nothing to be worried about right now. Plenty of competition for them and Sony and Nintendo are not Affliction/Strikeforce.

I wouldn’t consider it a monopoly yet. It is extremely anti-consumer though, just as the Bethesda one was. They’ve shown this is their strategy. Wall off gamers from as many established publishers as they can through acquisitions to force people to their ecosystem.

No one else has the means to do this. That is not debatable.

While I own both a PS5 and a Series X I don’t like the idea of COD potentially not being on PlayStation in a couple more years. All my friends are on PS4/5 I’m the only one on Xbox too.
