Merab Dvalishvili breaks all kinds of records with his win over Umar, including passing GSP in TDs

Merab is also the only fighter in history to ever be guillotined by Ricky Simon

Only the casuals and stand and bang is King barbarians didn't like his style at first. MMA connoisseurs and wrestling fans admired it right from the start.
For me he has an elite trait, that's exciting to see. Is his elite trait Cardio? Yes. But none the less, I like to watch fighters who seem special in some sense, and Merab checks that box. Umar just seems like a very skilled and well rounded fighter, but no one elite trait.

GSP actually did damage to his opponents with his limbs.

The only damage Merab did to Umar was with his empty head.
No, Merab rocked him standing a couple of times and had him hurt to the body pretty badly.

This was just Rogan gaslighting viewers. He yells “OOOHHHH” and claims fighters are hurt all the time when it’s completely false.

Delusional.

Merab landed one good shot- he didn't rock anyone.

Umar on the other hand wobbled Merab good in rd1.

You're both conflating being rocked with being wobbled. Being rocked has to do with the power of the shot that you're being hit with and how it snaps your head back. Being wobbled has to do with your punch resistance and how it affects your balance. A good punch rocks someone, but it doesn't always wobble them. And yeah, Merab landed several good shots post round two. Umar just responded really well to them.

You both also seem to have conveniently left out the body shots that very visibly hurt Umar and slowed him down, put him on the defensive.

...and promptly broke his hand, "allegedly".

Your "elite striker" should learn how to throw a punch correctly 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed 💯 📠

Merab he was most certainly yyds 🐐🙏

He's pillow fisted and can't keep people down.
It's also a negative record

Dvalishvili has landed 92 takedowns in UFC competition, the most in company history. Georges St-Pierre previously held sole possession of the record since November 2013.

11-fight UFC winning streak at bantamweight is the longest active streak in the division.

Dvalishvili has landed 2,092 total strikes in UFC bantamweight competition are most in divisional history.

Is it time to admit that even though we didn't like his style at first (and most probably still don't) that Merab is quite possibly the 135 GOAT?

I thought that Cain V took down Rothwell 192 times in their bout.

311 was basically Merab’s event. Biggest winner out of everyone while also coming in as the underdog. Incredible work.
