You're correct about charismatic jive.

Jesus and the disciples never acted in such ways. But don't pretend that the entire catholic tradition isn't rotten with man made ritual designed to foment guilt and position the church and not God as the way to salvation.
The Church is the only reason we know anything about the life and ministry of Jesus. For academic historians and scholars, it is open and shut between baptism and crucifixion. He left a church, not a book; and 90% of the population in the 1st century was illiterate. It was the church that circulated, compiled, and formally canonized scripture to produce the bible. It was the church that developed and fleshed out the central dogma of trinitarianism. It was the church and its early fathers (disciples of the apostles and subsequent generations) that persisted and promulgated the faith through centuries of persecution despite countless martyrs, including dozens of popes. The dismissive attitude they're shown by Protestants whose glorified book club "denominations" didn't exist until the 16th century is frankly disgusting. Talk about man-made, holy shit. The disrespect towards Mary, even more so.

I'd know, I was raised Protestant. I held contempt for Catholicism. I was wrong. There is no other option as a Dakotan born descendant of Norwegian immigrants, lol. But the shit is so barren and empty it'll have you irreligious by early adulthood and flirting with Norse paganism for a sense of spirituality, with deities that have been reduced to modern comic book characters. Another thing about Prots is woeful confusion between Sacred Tradition and ecclesial traditions. They are two different things, and ecclesial traditions are not dogma. All dogma is doctrine, but not all doctrine is dogma, nor is it binding on the faithful in the same ways. One could just as easily counter the idea that it exists to "foment guilt" with "make tangible sacrifices and live a pious life".

Top Notch Theologian We Got There.

I, for one, am very excited to see the direction Leo will take with the church. A return to traditionalism is a positive for the world in my opinion and the sooner we get away from associating with these with “denominations” the better.
I am 100% a traditionalist.
I’d like all these posts if it were for the dubs.
0.1 BTC Leo would fuck this clown up in seven different languages.

As for this confrontation? Too close to call.
