Poking the bear
Hardly. I'm just puzzled why I'd be quoted twice in separate threads if only a single sentence of my response was going to be addressed. That's why I didn't bother the first time, but I'll return the favor. I also feel that the vague criticisms are mixing up things that stand separate. It's like the guy in the Taliban 6 year old wife thread who claimed that the post-Vatican II sexual abuse scandals "are not the whole of the religion" as if it were any part of it at all.
As if it were not criminal under church canon law; as if for the 3-4% of clergy accused and implicated, it's not a grave violation of the sacrament of holy orders with a heap of mortal sins stacked on top of that. As If. This is to say that the abuse, corruption, and sins inherent to humanity does not invalidate creed, doctrine, theology, or tradition. And if we're going to discuss the church as an Institution in direct regards to its cultural and historical interface, then there is a lot of meat on those bones in the other direction.

So your contention is that Jesus,
Nope.
Is it yours that Jesus lied and the gates of hell prevailed? When did that happen exactly, and what year was the Church of Cherry Brigand founded?

It certainly needed to be done and that was the path and method of which He chose.
Exactly.
Sent you a DM to keep the memes flowing.
It can be meme'd.

On another note, and aside from this point: perhaps the most bothersome thing about Protestantism is the denial of the greatest thing about Catholicism. On what basis they reject it, I do not know. I am certainly in no position to do so.
GOSPELS
Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." (Matthew 26:26-28)
And as they were eating, he took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many." (Mark 14:22-25)
And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves; for I tell you that from now on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood." (Luke 22:16-20)
^^ But is it symbolic? Maybe.
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6:53-58)
^^ Okay, clearly not.
ST. PAUL'S EPISTLES (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
^ And this is exactly why it should only be received when in a state of grace, for which another sacrament was instituted to deal with.
