News McGregor back in court

Sounds like the plaintiff will call in one more witness tomorrow and the forensic evidence will be shared. After that, I believe it will be Conor's turn to call in witnesses.

I am genuinely shocked at the lack of coverage by the MMA media. This is the biggest star the sport has seen, who gets headlines if he drops a drunk Tweet.

Yet here we are...

It's crazy, you'd think it's free clicks. It genuinely makes me think that there might have been word go out that people could lose media credentials if they cover it.

I don't want to verge on conspiratorial territory, but I genuinely don't understand. Even guys like Helwani who are usually pretty on top reported on this once, and moved on.

I'm not even suggesting they give any opinions. Just do what RTE is doing and say what happened in court today.

yeah, unfortunately, such an action might be too controversial for those, who decide such content...

i mean, the guy flew (in an airplane) approximately halfway around da world to throw a dolly at people in a bus after all.

plus, uncle dana will prob threaten to never give any snow to sherdog staff

The way he keeps like, overly emphasizing 'thank you GOD' lmao on shit lately... and it's been heavy / always heaviest around the rape shit. I legit think it's a subconscious indication of his mental state, of trying to push, bury his deamons and like, overcompensate, like even to himself - like 'thank you god for this sunny day! I shall sin no more!', because the shit he did was so fucked up.

Surely the DPP will be under huge pressure to reopen the case and prosecute criminally

I hope so. I didn't realise you can still pursue criminally after civil. Given how public this is becoming... it's all over BBC n shit, and the details... I really hope they do. Because it's fucked up what he did, and he obviously did, and he should not be roaming around smiling; or a further threat to more women. He already fkn choked another one on his yacht not long ago.

He knows jury members, or even judges, might go into his social media to see how he expresses himself. So it makes sense to litter your feed with that kind of image.

Good point.

In this day and age... it's almost like a crafty way of influencing/manipulating the jury, jury tampering... without actually, directly doing it. Knowing for a fact it will though.

I would hope so. Then again, tomorrow begins his defense. And I'm sure Conor has lawyered up to break the woman in court.
I would love to hear the friend Danielle give evidence and if it's true he tried to silence her with an offer of money than surely that should be brought up too?

Surely nothing at this stage is gonna negate the medical evidence / hospital reports which are significant. It's gonna be interesting to hear what Mr Farell has to say over the next few days because no doubt he's not gonna go down without a fight. I'd say Remy Farell is shitting himself of losing this case. I think everyone in Conors circle is scared to disappoint him tbh

From Farrell's interventions so far, we know the general strategy:

1) Point to inconsistencies between statements made in testimonies across time to devalue her reliability.
2) Point to a history of lying to others: to her BF over text saying she was fine, friends, thus making her appear as untrustworthy.
3) Point to the memory-gaps to suggest she does not remember correctly what happened, or is lying. Question her "selective" memory.
4) Suggest she had sex with Lawrence after the alleged raping incident by emphasizing the affectionate exchanges shown in the footage at the hotel.
5) Point to her former history of mental health issues, alcoholism, infidelity, sexual promiscuity, hedonism, and substance abuse to disqualify her PTSD declarations, and reinforce the idea she did everything voluntarily.

I don't doubt Farrell will do a "good job". I'm sure he isn't cheap, if he's Conor's defense.

Yeah, he just seems to be going all out on her previously having had mental health problems.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. I've heard nothing outside of Sherdog. Maybe Conor isn't as big as we thought, or has fallen off to the point that the media doesn't care?

That's good if he found God, as God can be found at any point in your life. But I see no change in McGregor to indicate this to be true. At least that's been made apparent up to this point. So you're probably right.
