May Challenge: Standard's 3 mins of fun

i'm working on my snatch form. Did 30 lbs for 30 reps for a grand total of (insert dramatic pause) 900 lbs! Still trying to get the hip oomph and I'll do this before the end of the month. Not that it's going to matter in the rankings at all...
 
More respectable this time:

41lb dumbbellx86 reps=3526lbs.

LoL, exactly 1 rep less than I got with the 35lb dumbbell. Remember how I said conditioning part wasn't that much of a problem for me, I just suck at snatching fast? I guess I should try this heavier still.

just kidding....glad to see you in this challenge....I'll give this challenge a go tomorrow again ...perhaps with a 45lb.....so that i can qualify for both this and the other 100 snatch challenge....

will it count for the other challenge if i choose anything aside from 35 or 45 lb DB?

I think i'll do what zero did...do 3 min for as many reps then finish off 100 reps in whatever it takes...
 
I started doing these challenges making it my goal to keep hitting the top 10 (to get more points on the overall leaderboard).

Looks like I'm screwed this month.

Reminds me of being in elementary school and doing physical exercise tests for badges and medals some year I managed to pull out a bronze others I got the stupid 'Thanks for trying, Fatso' red badge.

This one was a huge moral victory for me.

50lbs dumbell x 84 = 4200!

I had been using the timer on my phone, so I had to pick it up to see the time I had left and such, which killed time, and prevented me from having a good time strategy. This time I used a big clock with a sweep hand and laid it on the floor in front of me. So I knew how long sets were taking and when to rest and such. I started with my weak side and went 10/10/10/10/, ...20 sec rest...5/5/5/5/...5 sec rest...5/5/5/5/2/2. the 50lbs dumbell was my sweet spot. I tried 60lbs the week before and gave up at 40 reps.

Gonna have to break the trend, I actually went down on my numbers... having an off-day but I thought I'd have enough juice to crack 2000, boy was I off.

40 lbs. (double db. snatch) x 34 reps = 1360 total lbs. snatched

Was burning my shoulders and I was really surprised my forearms were collapsing near the end... need to rest-up I guess.

Might try again Friday, need to rest-up between now and then.

I'm actually satisfied with my current score so I'll have to watch who does what before deciding to do this one again.
 
Damn tried this again and cramped right out, guess i can't put a strength workout and post a good time in an event like his in 45 mins
 
My last two tries made me feel like death for an extended period of time after, no way I could do it before or after a strength workout.
