Crime Mass shooting in Russia at Crocus City Hall

An Islamic State affiliate's claim that it was behind the Moscow attack would, if proved correct, be the latest in a number of Islamist-linked attacks in or against Russia in recent years.
A Russian plane was blown up over Egypt’s Sinai desert in 2015 with 224 people on board, most of them Russian citizens.
That attack was claimed by Islamic State, which later published a photograph of the explosive device.
In 2017, a bomb attack on the St Petersburg metro that killed 15 people was also linked to radical Islamists.
Militant groups have been fighting Russian forces in the North Caucasus region of the country for decades.
Large numbers of them flocked to Syria to join IS when the group was formed 10 years ago. Some militants that operate in the Russian North Caucasus have declared allegiance to IS, say experts.
But the specific group that has claimed today’s attack, ISIS-K, is the Islamic State affiliate in Khorasan - an old term for a region that includes parts of Iran, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
Counterterrorism experts say Russia has found itself “in the crosshairs” of ISIS-K, which frequently criticises President Putin in its propaganda.
It accuses the Kremlin of atrocities against Muslim people in military campaigns in Chechnya and Syria, as well as in the Soviet-era invasion of Afghanistan.

I know some asked the question "why", I thought this was a decent breakdown as to why IS-K might attack Russia.

My theory on ISIS: it was a creation of the CIA to overthrow the Syrian govt. and install a puppet regime.

Libya, Ukraine, Lebanon, Iraq, etc.

The whole Prigozhin debacle exposed how vulnerable Russia is to internal attacks right now. It was just a matter of time when a hostile group was going to exploit the situation. Russia has a lot of enemies.

They've got all their eyes on Ukraine which leaves all sorts of radical/jihadist groups unsupervised.

Two of the terrorists.

Glad to see someone accept that Russian guarantees mean absolutely nothing, will take note of this post next time someone claims Ukraine must negotiate with Russia.

All countries do things like that you moron. You think it's unique to Russia? Stop sperging out on anything Russia-related.

Tajik nationals or just ethnically Tajik?

All 4 have citizenship is the word

But like i said nothing confirmed yet by the police, this is just whats flosting around in russian side of net

Two of the terrorists.

Russian media reporting this is them escaping. Hard to believe that a attack could take place for so long, in a capital city no less and the perpetrators escape without being engaged.

Sad to say but I think by the end of the day the death toll will be at least 200.

Yeah that is nuts to me.. it seemed like they were in there for awhile right? That is surprising as hell.

There were rumours of the terrorists calling in false reports of attacks in different locations. That could have slowed down the Moscow police etc, who aren't exactly world class in the first place, enough for the terrorists to escape.

As I pointed out up-thread, the Charlie Hebdo shooters managed to escape the scene of the crime in the middle of fucking Paris, and stay on the run for two days. One of them was finally killed by GIGN after taking hostages in a supermarket. And I'd take the GIGN over the best Russian police have to offer.,
