Manti Te

still doesn't make sense to do it to hide being gay.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this guy never seeing her speak. I'm sure a million girls would be all over him. Things definitely don't add up on his part.

How does this happen in this day and age and why did it take so long to be revealed.

So how soon before Mr. Te'o comes out of the closet? I can't be the only one thinking that this was a "beard" attempt that got out of control.

Damn. I read that whole article and that never once occured to me. Im over here thinking Mante banged his buddies girl or something, and this was payback...

Now we know why he sucked so hard in the championship game...

ESPN is pulling a massive cover-up for Manti Te'o right now. sad and pathetic. ESPN is not what it used to be.

ESPN and ND would rather play along than admit that they were suckered by Manti and his family/friends.

Q: what does Te'o and his girlfriend have in common?
A: neither showed up in the National Championship.

I saw John Anderson and Mark Schlereth discuss this situation and it seemed like they were at least questioning Mante's motives. Not that they're not slow-playing the shit out of this...but still

I mean, Anderson said something to the effect of, "We at least have to consider the possibility that Mante was complicit in this"...then Schlereth was like, "Well, we're in the gathering information stage." haha. So at least they're not completely trying to cover this up

I wouldn't go there just yet. It's just coming out and if he was innocent and they crucified him publicly, it could really backfire on them.

What are they saying?

That he is the victim of a hoax. That's about it. That's really all they have to go off of at the moment though. And it's a sports channel so I'm sure they're not going to dig for the in the closet dirt any time soon.

What are they saying?

He's a victim of a hoax lol. ESPN and Notre Dame knew about it days before the BCS national game was played. They decided to release it now that the game has been played. Notre Dame knew about it since Dec 26 and ESPN knew about it since Jan 2.

Was this reported on Deadspin?

Not that I don't believe it could happen, I totally do.

I just haven't read it anywhere besides second-hand accounts

The press release from Notre Dame said the Dec 26 date. ESPN was a bit more hush about it but rumors say it was Jan 1-2. Reason why? Because ESPN was broadcasting the BCS Championship Game and didnt want it to be tainted by this story.
