Manager Protests Ilia Topuria Replacing Islam Makhachev as UFC P4P King

God who cares, it's not even a real ranking. Ilia doesn't care about it.

Doesn't really matter since they aren't real rankings anyway, but they kind of give away that it's just a marketing gimmick when they displace a guy who didn't lose because someone else beat a guy

Topuria is the undefeated former FW champ who moved up a weight class and took the LW belt in less than a round. He last 3 wins were complete smashings of all time greats too. So yeah, #1 PFP sounds right.

Islam can take that spot back if he absolutely throttles Jack at WW though.
Took a vacant belt against someone who wasn't even the #1 contender. Kind of dampens it when Islam already beat 2 of those 3, and did it first when they were ranked #3 and #1 p4p and on massive win streaks, as opposed to coming off a brutal KO loss a couple months earlier and the other 2 being 3 and 6 years removed from being champs and not even in the top 10 p4p.

Maybe Islam should try fighting people other than #12 Moicano and Old Man Poirier
Double yellow.... dude I missed you but you're teetering close to the edge there.... rage a bit more and we'll be rid of ye.

Islam's wins over Volk and Charles are definitely more impressive, considering the streaks they were on.
But I understand the UFC wants to push their new potential cash cow. Ees normal.
If Islam beats JDM, I assume he'll go back to #1.

This is the second time Islam has been waylaid by the UFC's promo plans (first time was with Jones getting the nod despite the inactivity).
But I doubt he gives a fuck.
He'll go dominate like he always has, probably, and then force the UFC to put him back up there.

But like P4P really matters.... but I guess it does since I just spent a whole damn minute ruminating about it.

They dont wanna take risks, and Topuria is definitely risky opponent for Makhachev...

Not really when it comes to Volk. Islam is a weight class bigger and when he fought full camp Volk he struggled a lot more than Ilia did fighting a fully prepared Volk, and with no size advantage.

A streak doesn't mean more than the abilities of the fighter and breaking a streak by having a close loss to the champ of a bigger weight class highlights why the streak doesn't matter much on its own.

That dude is a shitstain. You can’t always judge a book by it’s cover, but one look at that guy’s face, and he’s exactly like you imagine he would be, just an annoying sleezeball.
