Hey everyone, we must kill @guard_passer! He is complicit in the Robot Holocaust.
Watched. It.@DataBreach is this up your alley of research?
A monkey can't outperform a human in every way though. At least they won't be able to until they can ride horses and shoot AR-15s.This is fucked up, do this guys really believe that if they can make machines that outperform men in every way that they will simply follow our orders? Would you take orders from a monkey?
This was VERY interesting and worth a watch. Geordie Rose is the co-founder of D-Wave systems and has worked as their Chief Technical Officer since 06. D-Wave systems is the first company in the world to sell quantum computers. Here he explains a bit about how they work and what they will be used for, and it's scary.
Cliffs:
- yes, he actually does talk at length about how they exploit information from parallel universes (those are what he calls it anyway. maybe it's really quantum entanglement or something else, idk. But those are his words).
- he even puts up a quote from David Deusch (whoever that is) saying "Quantum computation will be the first technology that allows useful tasks to be performed in collaboration between parallel universes."
- D Wave Systems already has 2 quantum computers up and running. One is at UC Southern California, NASA has the other one.
- He describes the appearance of the quantum computers as big, black monoliths (scary). Also says when standing next to one, they give off an audible pulse about every second that sounds eerily like a heartbeat and it feels like standing next to "an alter to an alien God." (wtf is this man just evil or what?!)
![]()
- The quantum computers have an internal temperature of a fraction of a degree just above absolute zero (hundreds of times colder than interstellar space)
- he is super excited about using quantum computers to create AI and making machines that can outperform humans at literally anything (wtf is WRONG with this dude?!)
- says the shadows of the parallel worlds overlap with ours and if we're smart enough we can dive into them and grab their resources and bring them back into ours (again, his words). Reasserts that this is actually how these things work.
- he makes 3 predictions for the future:
1. In the next 5 years NASA will discover an Earth-like planet and serious ppl will start discussing how we get there, and that they'll use D-Wave's machines to figure it out. (Idk what year this talk was, but it was uploaded to YT in 2015. NASA discovered 7 Earth-like planets a month or two ago. So I guess he was right about that one).
2. By 2023, a major breakthrough in physics will occur based on a model whose cornerstone is in the reality of parallel universes; an experiment will be performed on a quantum computer that will support the new theory.
3. By 2028, intelligent machines will exist that can do anything humans can do; quantum computers will have played a critical role in the creation of this new type of intelligence.
tl;dr version:
This asshole is Miles Bennett Dyson and D-Wave Systems is Cyberdine Systems..... only scarier. Seriously watch the video (I know it's 20 mins but it's interesting and goes by quick). Just listen to the creepy way he talks about this shit and some of the words he uses (alter to an alien god? exploiting parallel universes?) And the only time he expresses excitement is when talking about making machines that are better at everything than people are.
This company seems to be doing some very wrong shit.
I wasted the time watching the video and it just looks like a salesman to me. He did nothing to explain the difference between quantum computing and normal computers other than seemingly admitting they are currently slower than other computers. He compared it to how the horse was faster than the Wright brothers plane but now planes are much faster. He is implying that the speed of his computers will continue to increase at the same pace. Using his flight analogy, The SR71 was the fastest airplane and it is no longer in service. The Concorde was also retired due to cost/benefits. You can take more people in a slower plane decreasing the costs and people chose the cheaper option.
Personal computer speeds were rapidly increasing at first also but it got to a point where the majority of people realized that they didn't need a faster computer.
D wave is super cooling a system possibly to take advantage of super conduction at low temperatures but it uses a chip which may or may not be just like any other computer. Apparently the video was produced in 2013 because he said in 5 years and the graphic at 18:00 showed;
"By 2018, NASA will have found a planet with oceans of water and an Earth-like atmosphere within 40 light years of Earth using a quantum computer; serious discussions about going there will begin.
Some of you are claiming that prediction has come true. NASA has found some planets near the size of Earth but have no information as to whether they have "oceans of water" and certainly not an Earth-like atmosphere. The also weren't found using a quantum computer. They were found using a space telescope. His prediction hasn't come true but he has time yet. I doubt the quantum computer will have anything to do with it though.
Apparently not many of these have been sold. If they worked and provided some advantage, people would buy them.
The marketing of parallel universes is weird. When Brian Greene or Michio Kaku or whoever bring up the analogy that you exist in an infinite number of places with infinite variations- it seems dumbed down for public consumption.Meh, I just don't believe parallel universes exist. Now I'm not nearly as smart as those who do, but I think their belief is a kin to folks believing in God. I just don't believe there is a parallel universe exponentially expanding where each one of us causes billions of new ones to exist every second by our every moment decisions. For this to be true, in a parallel universe somewhere each one of us would have won the powerball lottery, and in another we would have been raped to death by a wild hyena. We'd be married to every other person alive today as well, and I just created another one where I didn't just type "dcedhefs" but simply a different string of letters but everything else in this world would be the same as that new parallel universe.
Or maybe I completely misunderstand the idea of infinite parallel universes.
If I stick my dick into a portal, and the tip penetrates my alternate self, is it gay? Am I still straight since im penetrating.. me? I don't know.If I reach into the parallel universe and jerk myself off, is it masturbation? Gay? These are the questions I need answered.
We are going to open up a portal to another dimension, and some gigantic form of A.I. is going to use our planet as an anal bead. Also, I remember hearing something about Black Cube worship and how it's supposed to represent evil. This thing looks like a black cube. The CTO of the company that makes them describes them in this speech as "giant black monoliths, that give audio pulses every second that make it sound like a heartbeat, and says it feels like standing next to an alter for an alien god." Oh and that they exploit parallel universes and are going to create AI.
NONE of that sounds good imo.

I have wondered though, whether there is a parallel reality to ours, that is something more like waves of our everyday reality, that ripple out into a small dimension. We can all imagine that when we move our hand across our face. The reality of moving our hand could be trailing an artifact of its reality, sort of like seeing tracers when you're intoxicated. Those "tracers" might extend perpendicular to our spacetime dimensions. Or maybe it's more like echoes that never bounce off of anything. Something along those lines seems plausible because it's connected to reality.

You're in for a rude awakening. This technical system was built for one ultimate purpose. Total control.Quantum computing and AI go hand in hand, and I am extremely excited about the advent of these technologies. There are some risks, but the utility that they offer will change the world in a positive way.
