Crime Maine shooting - 18 dead

Guy was a gun instructor. We need good guys with guns to protect is from the good guys with guns.

Unfortunately we've gone from 'definitely an offender, definitely not allowed a gun' to 'was a firearms instructor in the armed forces'.

Doesn't quite fit the narrative some are wanting to push.

Or you could have the law as you can't drink and carry but being in a bar or restaurant is fine if you don't drink. You know like the whole drinking and driving thing

Problems with this are restaurants are private property so whether or not guns can be present isn’t a “public carry issue” as well as it’s blatantly obvious if you’re in the process of operating a vehicle but not obvious if you’re concealed carrying so it’s nothing like the drinking and driving. how the fuck do you actually enforce this? Have cops patrol the inside of bars and restaurants and search folks who order drinks?

i mean sure that's a place to start. i'm not knowledgeable on it like some of you so have at it, but any outrage needs to be consistent.

There are countless ways society has for decades attempted to confront gang issues.
From grassroots community efforts up through national laws aimed at gun control. Pretending like no one cares is utter bullshit people make up to deflect from the topic at hand when mass shootings occurs. It’s incredibly disingenuous.

Same name as the person of interest, it's likely the same dude

Same name and pretty much same age, but seems to be a different guy:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/lewiston-maine-shooting-robert-card-what-know-rcna122262

Maine court records show that a man named Robert Card who was born on the same date as the person of interest was charged with speeding in 2001 and 2002. No other criminal records were listed in the state's electronic court records system or in several other public records databases.

So what are your thoughts for the 70+% of the murders in Chicago that go unsolved?

That is different, right?

yes becasue i am absolutely sure you care about lives of blacks and not using this as a political argument. to gaslight

What an evil, vile scumbag. That being said, the equivalent happens every weekend in the city I live in (Chicago), Baltimore, and Detroit, and no one bats the eyes. #CertainShootersMatter

This is some disingenious gasllighting and you know it, gang violence is not the same as one man picking up a gun and spraying at random ppl. in a mall or school. That is a specific white male crime, just take the L already.

So black kids playing on the side of the road in the hood and catching a stray bullet are less valuable than white kids in a library getting shot by some psychopath?
What? Those communities constantly ask for what they need to help combat inner city violence. Better schools, low cost daycare for ages 0-5, better paying job opportunities, pathways to home ownership, etc.

Don't say dumb shit like the above unless you're also fighting to get inner city communities those things that they need.

every mass shooting thread turns into "what do we do about the guns?", so naturally you'll get data from all sources of gun violence. can't cherry pick, bro.
No one cherry picks. People who talk about what to do about guns want the same gun restrictions applied everywhere, all the time. It's only their opposition who bring up inner city violence and they only bring it up to deflect from the conversation about gun control.

It's disingenuous because they don't care about inner city violence and they don't care about the victims of said violence. People who care about inner city violence propose plenty of solutions to that violence, ranging from education to broader social services. They absolute include gun control in their proposals. Yet the people who bring up black kids and inner cities never give 2 shits about all of the proposals.

The fact that they never address inner city violence proposals except as a foil to gun control always highlights just how little they care about the actual issue itself.

Did the authorities take this terrorist out yet?

i mean sure that's a place to start. i'm not knowledgeable on it like some of you so have at it, but any outrage needs to be consistent.

It's also amusing watching you talk outrage, when that's what your entire posting personality is based on, and making sure your on the side of poking the bear so to speak

Clearly, the answer is that we need even more guns. This event is proof that eveyrone needs more guns, with huge banana clips, bump stocks, and with sticker on the stock that says "bullets for peace" .
being armed makes it more difficult for a terrorist to kill you. Just ask the Israelis after october 7th.

"It will now be easier for Israelis to carry firearms for self-defense in the wake of the worst terror attack in the nation’s history.

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir announced on Sunday he has ordered officials responsible for issuing gun licenses to broaden its standards. As the death toll inflicted by terror group Hamas grew to over 600, Ben-Gvir said he wants more Israelis to be able to legally arm themselves."

i gotta admire the consistency in America.
every time this happens, the reaction is ABSOLUTELY EXACTLY THE SAME.

It's kind of exhausting isn't if? If you, me, super Nintendo had loved ones killed by this kind of thing we'd be outraged and wanting change.

But because we don't. It's meh onto the next one.

Whilst some mother, wife, child is left to cry about loosing someone

He was a firearms instructor.

Hopefully a deceased one at this point.

So first off I’m reading this dude was forced into a mental institution for two weeks saying he heard voices and wanted to shoot up a place in California?

2ndly this county had 4 total detectives and 12 total deputies. If he didn’t off himself which seems unlikely at this point he could literally be anywhere.

3rd this county was supposedly extremely well armed. This puts a huge dent in the argument civilians will help take out killers like this. I think it’s just too much to deal with at one time for 99.5% of people regardless of what training they have had.

Practically everyone leaving a bar is drunk.

And they should not be armed. If they are caught with a gun drunk they should be charged and sent to prison. Because they are drunk not because they were at a bar.

All I know is these cunts better not try a mass shooting around me. I'll draw my pocket revolver and advance toward the sound of gunfire, which will in no way rattle me, and kill the bastard before the second person is shot. Good guy with a gun here.
