If you’re a vegan, and you’re in a cooking show, and the challenge is to use steak, your dumbass better fucking taste that shit to make to sure it’s good! Same goes for fighters during Ramadan. No one cares about your beliefs, go do your fucking job, and don’t make excuses if you lose. AP starches him real violently and early regardless of fasting or not

Did anyone tell Magomed that he actually is not allowed to fight during Ramadan religion-wise?
Or does he know and he is yet another muslim who only uses religion to show off?
Fighting is permissible only to repel or halt aggression. But even in the course of such fighting, Muslims are not permitted any transgression; as is said: 'Fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress.

I guess Magomed is a prophet and he knows for sure that Poatan is about to attack him next week

Not taking anything away from him but the timing of Ramadan this year kind of works for this fight. It started today and goes for the next month. So starting today he supposedly has to fast from sunrise to sunset which coincides with the period he will be cutting weight anyway. I also assume he'll go to a reverse cycle where he sleeps during the day, eats and trains during the night.

The only issue will be the weigh ins happening on Friday morning. If he seriously doesn't eat or drink after making weight until sunset on Friday, he's going to be fucked.

There have been plenty of Muslim MMA Fighters, who fought in the UFC and fought during Ramadan. It has to do with scheduling.. if in the beginning of Ramadan or toward the end, that generally determines if one will fight during Ramadan.

Ramadan is only 6 days into the fight so Ankalaev won't be too bothered by it, he already won't be eating much during his weight cut and during fight week
Yea basically it’s during fight week anyways. Camp is over and if anything this might assist with his cut. His fight isn’t during the day either, he can hydrate post cut and pre fight just fine. If this was 2 weeks or more he might get a special badge, but as stated other Muslim figures fight it’s just the “top names” that seem to get away with this stuff.

Don't weight cutting include guzzling gallons of water and sweating it out? Yeah I don't think that's gonna work

(Ramadan is food & water fast not just food)

Man the bible says it's forbidden to eat shrimp, knock it off, no religious person follows the book

I mean...you can still guzzle gallons of water before you fast. It'll still be there dude lol.

People literally fast all year around. You can drink all the water you need for the entire day in a single sitting, much less during the window you have to eat and drink during Ramadan which is half the day.

I'm guessing because people normally eat multiple meals per day they assume that that is required for eating and drinking. These Dagestani guys are ultra conservative and simply do not want to change their eating habits for training which is understandable, but it isn't like they're literally going to be dead during Ramadan. It isn't a disadvantage beyond they have to diet differently which is more of an inconvenience.

As for the thread, I am pretty sure Belal Muhammad has fought during Ramadan.

Water loading generally starts the beginning of fight week. So if homie is training/eating/drinking at night and sleeping during the day, it would be an inconvenience for sure but doable. By far the biggest issue is not eating or drinking until sunset after making weight in the morning already dehydrated AF.
