Imagine if Leon had to pull out the last minute and we got Belal vs Colby instead at 296. He would have thrown Cloby around the cage like a bag of marshmallows and probably gotten another standing TKO victory after torturing him for 4 and a half rounds.

This, he was aggressive about not fighting Colby and did so. Seems like the same thing. But shit if he blew off Belal for Shavkat that would be a big balls move imo. Now we know Shavkat is injured and Leon’s coach is talking about 300 saying it’s most likely Belal (who is deserving of course). IMO Shavkat is the more scary of the two. Belal stylistically seems similar to what Leon thrives against and Shavkat is more a wildcard.

That's who he should have been fighting all along anyway instead of stalling and pissing away his prime years. He could have been dunking his nuts on guys like WB, Burns, Chiesa, ect. to 30-27s/50-45s, now all those guys could actually beat him now.

I do wanna see Cloby vs Thompson, that's one thing agree with about what he said at the post-fight presser, that fight should have happened already and now that they're both coming off losses let's see it. WB can fight MVP later in the year.

It's understandable there's a divide between fan and fighter perspective.
Of course belal deserves it but if you were offered a job of equal difficulty and one likely payed more or worse yet one that was harder but payed less? What would you do ? It's not about doing the right thing for your opponent. It's about doing what's right for you and your family. Leon got that treatment and he understands it very well now.

Leon is almost 33, he's been in the ufc for over 9 years and it's since beating usman that he's probably been getting paid above his usual peanut salary. He is also in that 170 and below zone and is closing in on 35. We all know the statistics. Could be why He wants 185 lmfao

Obviously, Colby fight was #1 bullshit. Belal has to be next. I hope to God someone finishes someone. It's unfortunate how things turned out for Burns. I was hoping he'd get his chance before he got too old. To be honest the WW division is full of bullshit right now. I don't think the best WW has the belt nor do I think he defended against the 2nd best WW. What we need is a tournament to sort some of this shit out.

The double eye gouge should have been a DQ and immediate rematch, hell an immediate rematch after the NC. Leon showed his true colours then and nothing's changed. Cheated to beat Usman in the rematch, cheated vs Belal. Dudes a lowlife
 
Even Leon knows that Ari Emanuel will never give a Palestinian like Belal a title shot in this current political climate
