The reality is Laura took away a spot that should have gone too a woman who fought, or currently fights, in the UFC and it may be another 4-5 years before another opportunity opens up.
Laura had one professional fight in 2013, retired from the sport, and then was hired a few years later as a backstage interviewer for fight nights. She is no more qualified to provide expert insight, which is the purpose of a color commentator, than the PPV backstage interviewer Megan Olivi would be.
Its shameful the UFC continues passing off their sideline reporter as a trailblazer for women in the sport.
