What kind of 60 year old dude has a room mate? And room mate as in apartment mates, or room mate as in "hotel room mate"...aka prostitute.
 
We now know two important facts regarding motive:

1. He was going through a divorce

2. He was fed up with Trump supporters (picture of him at an anti-Trump rally).

Obviously, this man was angry. But he was also embarrassed to be living in a country under Trump presidency. In the end, he decided to show those gun-toting Trump supporters (= country music festival) that their stupid handguns is no match for a fully automatic machine gun mounted in a tower. That their small puny firearms won't protect them. And that maybe they should focus more on making it harder to obtain military-style weapons (like he did himself out of spite) instead of clinging to an ignis fatuus; that their lame six-shooter will make a difference when push comes to shove. Yes, this particular weapon was outlawed, but it didn't matter. USA is flooded with illicit weapons. Time to clean up.

Nah, I was comped a suite in Atlantic City after I made a few $100 roulette bets (walked away winning $500) at the same hotel chains casino in Vegas. A guy walked up to me at the table iin Vegas and asked my name, then months later when I checked into the AC hotel they said they had a free suite for me. This was in 1984, so adjust for inflation and it might only require betting a few hundred dollars a few times.

I CCW everywhere I go, and I am as pro-second as it gets, but this is a textbook example of a situation that should have been handled by law enforcement. Braining Lebron as he climbs through your window at night to steal your TV, or being the hero of Waffle House when drop Jose of the West-Bridge Cholo gang as he tries to hold the place up is great. Trying to take on an entrenched shooter in a crowded location in a confusing situation like that is only going to make things worse. If I were there, even with my gun on my hip, I would have been running for cover and shielding my gf.

Agree. I support CCW as well, but the reality is that, statistically, the presence of another gun dramatically increasing the likelihood of needless victim deaths.

In this case, it would have been terrible. Since they thought the gunfire was coming from the ground, and could see (let alone reach) the actual shooter, they just would have killed each other with gunfire, intentional and incidental.

Isis has claimed responsibility and the shooter was a resent Muslim convert. Granted at this point it's a claim. The shooters wife has a bunch of family in Dubai and I've seen the pics of them there in that city.

No matter what everything about this is horrendous.

Its quite apparent the shooter was WELL acquainted with guns and shooting..this was not his first outing with a gun.most people with 2hrs of training can learn to speed reload

If i'm correct in my thinking. A suppressor on a fully automatic rifle would actually hinder it. As the continuous flash from firing auto rounds would cause the rifle to eventually jam.

Hitting center mass on an elevated target 125 plus yards away with a 9mm? More bullets flying from vigilantes? This is the dumbest post I have read in a long time.

On the off chance you aren't trolling, this narrative doesn't make sense at all.

The guy was shooting from a hotel tower down on a mass of people at a concert. Makes no difference if they were armed or not. Under those conditions they are fish in a barrel.

While I agree most can learn to speed reload vet friends of mine have read up on the reports that have been released, the accounts, and listened to the vid and they all say it doesn't sound like there's ever a pause to reload which makes a lot of them wonder if he was using something belt fed which then brings up the question of how the fuck the shooter would have that.
 
I wonder how fast the swat team got to his door from when the first bullet was shot anyone know? With a crowd like that if he had the ammo he could of had a lot shots in. Hopefully is was fast and interrupted that POS
