Keosawa's Powerlifting Log

Inspirational. I really liked your squats yesterday. That narrow stance really does work well for you.

Thank you sir--I appreciate the kind words. I, however, have an easy life, and I enjoy training, so I'd look elsewhere for inspiration. I'm lucky.

Well, he only needs $16 worth of inspiration, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Lol, hey asshole, you know how little undergrad summer research pays? 3rd world wages. That's like, half a day's pay, right there.

YOU KNOW HOW DOG-FOOD TASTES!? EXACTLY HOW IT SMELLS!

...delicious. :D

I'll pay you $16 to give lift offs on all my bench work sets for august.

You're a researcher yes?

I'm in a Ph.D program in the humanities (Film Studies); in a former life, when I cared about such things as cultivating my academic ethos, I did do a good deal of research, yes. Now, I'm just another jaded graduate student living off of his teaching assistantship.

Awesome log dude. I'll be combing through this in search of tips for sure.

I can't wait to join the ranks, myself. :D

I really suck at block pulls from this height (2-3" below the kneecap). My back was pretty tight from yesterday's squats, so I was at least happy to get through this with a PR (even if I used straps for it). Still, it's sad that my block pull from this height is only a few pounds better than my deadlift PR.

I know it's been a while, but congrats on your meet results. You did awesome, looking forward to your future gains.

Also, despite having watched many squat vids from you, I never realized your squat stance was that narrow.

I found your old blog hah! Kyle Keough's Training Blog

Great stuff!

lol, yes, I remember this--sheesh, I can't believe it's been 3 1/2 years already since I posted this. This brings back memories.

If you frequent their blogs, you already know that I trained with WC and Goon on Sunday. This is the second time we've trained together--we trained a while back at Poundstone's gym--and the first time we've met at my old gym. They made the long drive there and back, while I got to travel all of fifteen minutes; for that, I'm REALLY thankful.

Training with other good lifters is always fun, but I particularly enjoy training with these two because they're both really pleasant, down-to-earth people. It doesn't hurt that they're both strong as hell and very knowledgeable. Someday, I'd love to get a chance to visit them and their team to train!
