Nice squats Keosawa.
Thank you much.
On the west side note what did Louie have to say about your narrow-ish go-to squat stance?
We didn't talk about my squat much. We talked at length about the benefits of wide-stance squatting, however. I'd imagine he'd like to see my widen my stance at some point. I would too, if it makes for better numbers, but right now, widening my stance wouldn't necessarily help me squat higher.
My approach in the squat, bench press, and deadlift since late last year has been to systematically train my weaknesses while regularly using my competition style for the heaviest loads. For squat, it's been wide-stance squatting and in general posterior chain work; for bench press, it's been close-grip benching and triceps assistance; for deadlift, it's been sumo deadlifts, often with a very wide stance. My hope is that I can strengthen my weaknesses while maintaining my maxes and eventually, in time, make at least somewhat seamless transitions in technique.
