MMA flyweight veteran Katy Collins died at the age of 32 on Wednesday following complications from a brain aneurysm she suffered last week.
The Bellator veteran, who was 7-5 in professional MMA, was taken to hospital in Branson, Missouri, on Friday after the brain aneurysm caused a stroke and seizures.
“Red Dragon” last competed for Legacy Fighting Alliance in June 2018. Her coach JT Tilley paid tribute to her in an emotional post on Facebook.
“The fight is over. You never stopped fighting and we never gave up on you. Just wasn’t in the cards,” Tilley wrote.
I cannot understand why someone would feel the need to interject something like this, at a time like this, as if it would change anyone's opinion, or as if anyone cared about your deepest inquisitions. As if it sounded any other way than low class, demonstrating a lack of self-awareness.
