Traditional Martial Arts have the weirdest fanboys. 90% of them don’t train whatsoever, have never done any type of combat sport that actually works, but have the loudest opinions on fighting and the shortcomings of fighting styles that actually work.

i love when Karate, TKD, akkido, etc guys come through. It’s the best. They have legitimately worse instincts and ideas than your average bro/crossfitter.

average guy off the street realizes very quickly he can’t fight and will shell up or at least try something he saw on TV once.

TMA guys, however, THINK they can fight and think if they just breathe and hug you or like try to palm your ear or something they’ll get up. It’s incredible.

then i get to read on here about BJJ is missing all of this shit that would “actually” work in a fight.

Honestly, I think it would be a pretty good fight. Aghayev regularly fights and beats people much bigger than himself, though he isn't a heavyweight. Put a few inches more on Aghayev, though, and it's Frank vs. Fedor mark II. He looked done back then and that was 2018.

That's got nothing to do with him saying BJJ doesn't work in a fight, and then using himself not engaging in BJJ...in a BJJ tournament as an example of that.

He didn't really prove anything.
