Northwest the only name you should recognize is Ed Herman.
Ed Herman, Matt lindlan, chael sonnen, hendo, Chris lieben, all PNW guys from that same generation.

Such good nostalgia.Ed Herman, Matt lindlan, chael sonnen, hendo, Chris lieben, all PNW guys from that same generation.
Comp in continental level championship/ cup events with at least some success...Well, I don't know much about karate and don't have a strong opinion about it, that said, what is your definition of a high level competitor in mma, kickboxing, and sub grappling?
Considering him high level was my observation not saying I know much but he was one of the top guys in the northwest region, that sounds high level to me.
He fought Horace Spencer, Cedric Marks, and Ed Herman.
No one is saying that grappling doesn't work. It's just that rolling around on the floor like a baby in a real fight is generally a bad idea. The allegation is “grappling doesnt work in da streetz” and here it is working.
Turns out when bum ass black belts get way too drunk BJJ works really well on them.
Where was Saku when Rickson was fighting in ValetudoJapan? got submitted by a BJJ purple beltNo one is saying that grappling doesn't work. It's just that rolling around on the floor like a baby in a real fight is generally a bad idea.
Let's face it, the Gracies designed a martial that worked really well against people who didn't know what they were doing. They then assembled a tournament consisting mainly of third rate nobodies and washed up hasbeens.
Royce's only notable victory in his whole career was against Ken Shamrock. Rickson, the supposed grand daddy, then went out to Japan to fight pro-wrestlers in fixed fights. When they actually started fighting real people, Sakuraba (a chain smoking, pro-wrestler) kicked all their asses.
Meanwhile, the infomercial has been a great success. People who don't like getting hurt can get a black belt in grappling without any of those nasty high impact throws seen in judo or wrestling. They can also pay twice as much as it costs to do any other martial art for the privilege. Because they've invested so much time and effort into it they have to come onto the internet and get defensive when people point out that it doesn't really work in a street fight.
You dont know sht about Bruce Lee, dont talk about what you dont know. You seem jealous and enviousYeah he was 100% full of shit
Im not a corpse, so definitely not envious. Also, i can fightYou dont know sht about Bruce Lee, dont talk about what you dont know. You seem jealous and envious

Great grapplers of his time said they COULD DO NOTHING TO Bruce, he knew and sparred Wrestlers, Judocas, Japanese Jujitsu guys.. all elite level. His first student was one of the best Judo guys in America
So please don't be ignorant
He was an actor
You are confusing me with someone else, i dont believe in any bullshido and i dont have storiesDon't start him on Bruce LeeHe is like a time traveller from 70s 80s believing all the bullshido stuff. You will get bombarded with fake stories .
voila story 1There is a Japanese guy who is on video sparring with Rickson, throwing him, who had say he could do nothing to Bruce
I like Jesse and karate but this was a unfair biased video, made to fit his narrative.
There’s a lot of bullshit martial arts instructors/minds and he was the king of themAnd he teached martial arts, wrote for a martial arts magazine, almost wrote a book about it, developed his own system, represented his KungFu school in challenge fights in Hong Kong, what actor does all that? martial arts got him Hollywood work, they saw him in a martial arts event
He teached black belts, and amateur Boxing champions, champions in the army, and they were older than him
Somebody offer him to put money to have a school chain, he dont accepted, he thought he would teach better to the whole world with movies
Is not my story, there is a video of him saying thanvoila story 1.
He does this repeatedly now. Channel was ok in the beginning I agree but he turned into a attention whoring channel like so many others. Its about faking emotions , sucking up to stars and being dishonest / "funny" . Maybe I get too old for social media.
Man stop being ignorantThere’s a lot of bullshit martial arts instructors/minds and he was the king of them
If I correctly remember Norris had learned some stuff in South Korea ( Korean art with kicks ) and had at least a bit boxed...bruce lee guillotined BJ black belt Chuck Norris
bruce lee would've flying triangled jelio graice
according to wikipedia, chuck norris is a black belt under the machados. Bruce lee have zero belts and still choked the sucker out. Chuck norris is a fake martial artist, like a marc laimon or greg jacksonIf I correctly remember Norris had learned some stuff in South Korea ( Korean art with kicks ) and had at least a bit boxed...
Then he had also some compet under then modern semi contact rules ...
While IMHO he was legit...
Did he ever BJJ?
