I never disagreed she would lose, only that it was close enough in some states they would have to be counted further to be sure, especially at the time we were talking.

I don't think it was the economy stupid, I think Kamala just sucked as a candidate, and they also ran a bad campaign on top of that. If Joe dropped out a few months sooner and the Dems had time for a full primary I think it would have went different.

I’ve posted about this before, but yes, it’s always the economy. This election was a little different due to abortion rights being such a big topic—but generally Americans are only one issue voters (the economy), and really aren’t all that knowledgeable about that one issue.

Their analysis consists of basically asking themselves “how do I feel things are economically isn’t now under President Whomever, and is that better or worse than I felt under President Whats-His-Nuts?” And that’s about as far as most go.


Trump’s economic record was not better than Obama’s or Biden’s, even if we do him an extreme favor and remove COVID from the equation.
Trump is really good at branding though, and is good branding himself as being that.

imagine how bad that would've looked had Kamala won.

so the message to young women around the country would be - a woman can be president, as long as a political party places her in a running candidate position at the expense of the current candidate, despite not winning any primary election and dropping out of the 2020 Democrat race early because of how unpopular she was. so basically, a woman can be president ONLY IF all these extraneous conditions are put into place to make her president. and some of her supporters were leaning into it with "Kamala is a brat" t-shirts and other merch.

the message to young women - you cant be president because youre a good candidate, the party literally has to nominate you whether the electorate likes you or not. you have to be a brat in order to get people to pay attention to you. what a garbage message.

i want women of all types to run for president and win legitimately. i am sure there are some brilliant women out there who would make fine presidents. but after Hillary and Kamala, there will always now be some lingering doubt that a woman got there legitimately. and thats really sad.
