Crime Justified Shooting?

I’d say it’s justified.

He just got sucker punched from behind (likely mildly concussed), was outnumbered, on the ground, with a guy bigger than him standing over him.

One kick/stomp could be permanent brain damage.

Why can't people just have fun at a fucking festival instead of fighting and shooting eachother. Serious cultural problem you guys have.

Never even seen a fight at the local festivals I go to. Everyone is just chilling, drinking beer and enjoying the music (and perhaps some drugs).

Hard to tell without more information but if he was being attacked especially by more then one person then it was justified.

Pulling the gun was justified. But once people start to scramble, and the threat is dispersed, it’s a judgement call. How many people did he shoot?

If shooter was black its justified. If shooter was white it's racist and un justified. Csnt tell race of shooter so can't give answer

It seems this was LitNic Festival. There is no news report I can find. This could be a hypothetical semi-viral shooting. The incorrect festival tag, lack of shot sound, and selective editing are suspect IMO. Maybe more information will come out today.

Can’t tell. If he started the fight or was part of the cause it’s not self defense. If he was just getting attacked then it is.

I rewatched it. He defnitely had the gun in his hand before ever being sucker punched. Not justified.
Why do you think having it in his hand means anything? Unless he had threatened someone before the video started he was still sucker punched from behind. Do you think the sucker puncher was acting in a way to protect someone from getting shot? Did he see the gun and take action?

These out-of-context short clips don't do much other than cause more confusion.

Why do I think the fact he has it in one hand concealing it changes things? This isn't a serious post right? There isn't a world where he pulls this out for self defense and brandishes it the way shown in the video. But as the other post said, looks like maybe no shots were even fired.

I, too, would like to see more. But when someone is engaged in multiple attackers and some phssy hits him from behind, drawing a firearm is completely justified imo.

I'm with you on this one, gear.

Self defense shouldn't encompass situations where you're wading into a brawl, gun in hand with the plan that as soon as you get punched you can shoot.

No fights or shootings at festivals I go to...but I stay away from certain areas with certain demographics. Its always just food, Music and laughter.

The punch was not justified. People die from sucker punches.

I personally don't agree with pulling out a gun during a fight, but I'm old school and times have changed. In this instance the sucker punch changes things, and I would say justified. I hate seeing it done in a crowd that size though, I don't trust anyone to actually know how to shoot or not panic.

Unjustified imo, looks like the dude was itching for an excuse to use that on someone given how fast he draws and shoots. It’s a weird video because even the guy who punches him does it with zero animosity and almost looks nervous. Makes me wonder if they knew he had a gun prior to the events in the video and were trying to stop him. Is there more to this story?

It's impossible to tell whether it's justified without seeing how things started. A certain type of person will come into this thread and immediately claim justified though.

If there were a shooting surely we would have heard of it. Seems like he just pointed his gun?

It looks like he already had the gun out and in his hand when he got punched. Maybe there was a legitimate reason to have it out as we're coming in mid-scrap.

From what we can see in that clip, it looks an awful lot like premeditation. He didn't know he was going to shoot that guy specifically, but you don't pull your weapon for nothing.

What's so difficult to understand about what was asked/said?

Unless you know what happened before the video in the OP none of us know enough to say much of anything outside of what we see in the video itself.
